Saunton Sands Hotel Source Spa and Wellness

It was a lovely stay, at a beautifully appointed hotel.Staff were friendly,helpful,and polite. The views from the public areas, and my room were amazing .Would wholeheartedly recommend.

Being regular visitors to other Brend Hotels in the south west we thought we should try the flagship hotel of the group over the Christmas five day break. An excellent choice. From the front door, through reception to the de luxe room, the dining areas and the spa, yes, even the car park, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. In these days of excuses for mediocre service and average but expensive food, this establishment has every reason to hold its head up high. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

I’ve always wanted to come to this hotel and had heard great things from friends who had visited. Checked in today and just so disappointed! Check in was good and we were allocated room 110 - we had paid an extra £200 for a deluxe sea view room. Bags taken to room whilst we had a complimentary prosecco. However when we got to the room absolute dismay. Yes the room was on the front but the windows were absolutely tiny and v restricted sea view. My husband went to reception and confirmed that it was a deluxe sea view room! We went again and asked to see another room in that category as it just doesn’t match the website etc to be told only room 310 available, which we looked at but was even smaller than our existing 110. We were told that 110 has the biggest balcony - it’s January freezing and we wanted to see the beautiful sea view from the room not catching hypothermia on the ruddy balcony! Couldn’t understand initially why the room was so dark, turns out a light was broken and hadn’t been remedied. We asked housekeeping to deal - they couldn’t sort today so ha is kindly given us two battery lights so can see at the sofa!!! Room rather tired, bathroom door scuffed completely and our complimentary mini bar lacks produce! 2 bottles of beer and then the remainder soft drinks Carpet outside room got holes on same. Seen quite a few holes in the public area to be fair! Pre dinner cocktails lovely but took an absolute age to arrive and no apology etc. Dinner ordered where I requested goats cheese to start and sirloin steak rare with béarnaise sauce. Specifically stated really want steak rare not medium. Starter beautiful. Steak medium with peppercorn sauce!!! Sent it back as just think in this establishment this shouldn’t happen. New steak arrived and was good but I ate it after my husband had finished his plaice and really a romantic dinner for two shouldn’t be on different staggered seatings!!! Also why do I have to endure the helium balloons of new year!! Let’s see what tomorrow night brings and whether service and attention to detail improves!

Stayed here twice and can thoroughly recommend everything on offer. Also staying again in September. Great location for surfing Saunton, Croyde Bay and Woolacombe. What a view of the beach! Great food and choices at breakfast, lunch and dinner. I stayed with my two grown up daughters in a family suite on both occasions - accommodation is faultless. Spa and treatments plus indoor and outdoor pools are great. Games room also good - Euro 2024 was on the TV. Dry coats were a nice feature on the day it was cold and wet. You get amazing sun sets on the beach. It really is a gem and all the staff provide a great experience. Great memories!

A stunning hotel with spectacular views but what makes it special is the staff. From the restaurant staff to the reception team to the bar staff to the cleaning team and spa staff, all have been friendly and efficient and gone over and above to make our stay enjoyable. The food at breakfast and dinner has been excellent. The swimming pool, gym and jacuzzi pool with a view have exceeded our expectations. A lovely location to take walks from too. Fantastic. Thoroughly recommended.

I stayed at Saunton Sands after Christmas and it was a really enjoyable visit. The staff were all extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The food at dinner was great and the hotel had outstanding views across the beach. The only thing I’d recommend is the hotel expanding or updating their wine menu as I struggled to find white wine I recognised/ enjoyed. There was a good cocktail list though. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
