Movenpick Resort & Spa Boracay

This resort exceeded our expectations. It is located in a beautiful location with beach access. The hotel territory is filled with greenery. The staff was very caring and helpful. The room was very spacious (but a bit outdated) with a balcony. It was a great stay 😊

- not enough chases at the pool - many drinks are sold out at the bar - spa is very expensive compare to other similiar hotels -location is nice - the pool is also very nice but the floor around is old and need renovation. A friend was tread I a outlooking screw. The hotel was taken care but nothing else. No free drink or something like this. - after 21:30 the hotel is dead. No people, nothing.

Breakfast was excellent - I appreciate that most of the cheese and bread were already pre-sliced, and there were good options for fiber :) My faves were the local breakfast items - the champorado, the kutsinta and puto, the biko, etc. As Filipinos abroad for the past four years - especially during pandemic time - these were the things we missed most. Chocolate hour was also a great part of our stay - if our schedule wasn't suddenly fully packed, we would have liked to just sit and write at the Market's café-like atmosphere with their pastries and maybe a tankard of coffee :) Between the resorts that shared the coastline, Mövenpick's beach during our stay (third week of March) was the only one devoid of the greenish algae that plagued the other beachfronts, which we saw during our tour of the island by boat. I don't know if the team rakes it away or it's because of natural barriers, but I was able to enjoy the beach thoroughly because of it - resulting in a nice and crispy tan :). The Towel hut also provided banigs that were super handy to use on the beach itself, to sit on or to have a safe place for our stuff (but do remember to keep your electronics and other sensitive items under sufficient shade or the sun will toast them in a matter of minutes!). For those who still work out during a holiday, the gym is small but has sufficient equipment, including a TRX suspension trainer and mats in the studio. It's open 24 hrs too. It was always empty when I used it, so crowding is not a problem :) Room: we booked the Premium King - it was adequately spacious, the bed comfortable and very clean, and wide-enough spaces for a couple's foot-traffic. The floors are not carpeted like many beachside stays, but it would have been nice to have a small strip of carpeting just around the bed. We weren't able to use the balcony much but it looked lovely. The bathroom is well-designed - one of the few open shower concepts I've tried which was not an absolute mess after taking a bath, with the showerheads having enough space well within the glass paneling so as not to splash all over the bathroom floor outside. Suggest that they update the TVs. They only have local channels and a few non-HD movie channels, which was difficult to see. Rather than having a cable sub, it would be better to just update to smart TV's where patrons can log into their own streaming services :) But this isn't a deal breaker, as we mostly spent our time at the beach anyway. There's no ready ironing facility in the room, though I am sure we could have requested one to be brought up if we really needed it :) I'd also like to take a few lines to appreciate all the members of the Mövenpick staff - from the desk people to the grounds crew to the security to the housekeeping to the restaurant team to the beach crew to the shop staff - they were very friendly, accommodating, efficient, and made you feel really welcome. (We didn't have any encounters with upper management - though we did see them engaging with other patrons - so can't comment on them, but the rest are lovely :)) Overall, it was a lovely break from our daily grind. We'll be sure to come back again, with our families :) While our room's garden view was lovely, we'd like to try having a sea-view room next time :) PS: 4/5 for the location because it's one of the furthest away from the Cagban landing point, but you can also make a private boat booking that will take you directly to the mvnpck beach - pricier no doubt but you pay for the convenience o:

We had a wonderful 4-day stay! The resort is very nice and family-friendly — perfect for a relaxing getaway. The pool is great, and there are plenty of fun activities for kids to enjoy. The only downside is that the beach has quite a lot of big stones, so it’s not ideal for swimming, but everything else made up for it. Overall, a great place for families!

It’s a hidden place ,far away from the noisy stations of the white beach.the swimming pool is big,the room is nice and clean.Breakfast is great,you have choice…yoghurt,meat,fish,eggs,fruits,bakeries,salads,soup,rice,noodles,bacon,etc The chocolate hour is awesome .if you like to stay in a calm environment it’s for you!

We stayed in Movenpick for one whole week following the recommendation from a friend who stayed there twice already when she traveled to Boracay, and on the whole, we didn’t regret this choice either. We’ll share some positive things first, then negative. It was our first time to visit the island, and we knew that the White Beach area is always crowded, full of beggars and people offering you to go sailing or try out massage at their salon literally every five steps which is quite annoying. On the contrary, Movenpick is a quiet and secluded place where you can enjoy your vacations at the fullest. The prices in the resort restaurants are almost the same as in the White Beach cafes, maybe a little higher, but the food is way more delicious (we especially loved the dishes in Brezza). We didn’t expect it to be so good after reading some negative reviews on Ctrip, so it was a nice surprise. The breakfast was also amazing, with a variety of options and outstanding service (and they do have black coffee, so don’t trust those who mention that there is no coffee at the breakfast buffet). But what impressed us most was a very warm and friendly attitude of all staff to every single guest. They always approached us with a big smile, and after several days of staying, they could even remember our cocktail preferences at daily Happy Hour! Nice little sweet treats at Chocolate hour, live music from 6pm daily, plenty of space and activities offered at the resort - we loved it a lot. However, there are some tiny things you must know before booking. Half of the swimming pool might be closed for maintenance, which is totally understandable yet isn’t what you expect when choosing this hotel (neither it is convenient nor pleasant to see). Although the rooms are comfortable and clean, you can see they haven’t been renovated for a while (AC/fridge are quite noisy, some things like shower gel dispenser might get broken easily - but they can be replaced at once if you inform the hotel). Last, if you are unlucky with neighbours (especially if there’s a family with an infant in the room one floor above yours), then you might enjoy terrible noise all the day as the rooms are not soundproof. We couldn’t sleep for 2 nights, and only on the 3rd night we were offered a bigger room for sleeping overnight (but the AC was loud there, not to mention some weird sounds outside in the middle of the night - could be an electricity generator or something else - that woke us up and we had to move back to our main room with the hope that our neighbours were fast asleep). In a word, it is recommended to bring some earplugs and not hesitate to inform the receptionists about any problem you have at once and ask for an immediate solution. Generally speaking, if we ever decide to return to Boracay for vacations, it’s highly likely we will choose Movenpick for the whole stay time again.
