Hotel Rural Monasterio de Ara Mada

Great little hotel, simple but perfect. We were greeted by our friendly host and even though we had turned up a little early he was still full of smiles. Our room was small but perfectly formed, nicely decorated and very clean and comfortable. Situated in a lovely little hamlet which we explored. Our host cooked us a delicious Spanish omelette in the evening and breakfast the next morning was good too. He also helped us with interesting and good rides to take on our bike. I couldn’t recommend enough if you’re in this vicinity.

We were lucky to find this hotel shortly after it reopened with a new owner-manager. The new owner is a charming, generous guy and a good cook. The hotel is in an old building that stays remarkably cool in the summer. The bedrooms and fittings are all modern and of excellent quality. Little details in the common areas show a restrained good taste. Our room had a beautiful view over the mountains to the north. We chose this place because it offers a short but adequate dinner menu, so no need to drive around dark country lanes looking for a restaurant. The food is all fresh and the Spanish omelette is particularly good. Breakfast starts with freshly squeezed orange juice, then a couple of local specialities prepared by the owner’s mother, plus toast, genuine ham, jams and good coffee. For a breakfast included in the room rate, it is very generous. You can walk directly from the hotel onto farm tracks up into the wooded hills or down to the hay meadows. The hay had just been cut when we were there, wonderful odours reminding me of a distant childhood! Ten minutes by car is the village of Vegaquemada, where there is a lovely riverside walk leading to the next village. We are casual birdwatchers and we found the area very rewarding, both in quantity and variety. Tripadvisor says that commentaries must include something negative; sorry, but I really can’t think of anything! A wonderful weekend, hopefully to be repeated soon.

La decoración del hotel muy acogedora, una fuente a la entrada que invita a la relajación. La habitación limpísima y un cuarto de baño cómodo. José Manuel, el propietario muy amable y buen cocinero, cenamos allí, tiene un saloncito muy acogedor y nos preparó unas croquetas hechas por él y un plato de cecina que estaba delicioso. El desayuno para mí gusto perfecto, zumo natural, fruta del tiempo, tostas con jamón...que más se puede pedir, seguramente que casi nadie en nuestra casa desayunamos tan completo😏 en fin que lo recomendamos y nosotros volveremos a alojarnos allí cuando vayamos por la zona. Hay tantas cosas que destacar de este alojamiento que no se por donde empezar. Era un viaje familiar y se lo pusimos difícil a Jose (dueño) nada más llegar con la cena porque teníamos un celiaco, una vegetariana y otra con alergia a la leche. No hubo ningún problema. Adaptó la cena y todo fue perfecto. Totalmente recomendable cenar en el hotel (y desayunar, sin duda!). Los colchones y las almohadas son tan confortables que se duerme estupendamente. Muy limpio, tranquilo y acogedor... el paisaje pura naturaleza. Jose es el mejor guía de la zona. Nos aconsejó un par de sitios que nos facilitaron mucho el viaje.

Como siempre fantástico !!! No dudéis ni por un minuto conocer este hotel ,Lo más parecido a estar en tu propia casa .Vengo por trabajo una vez al mes y no lo dudo .Este mes José .me sorprendió de nuevo .Ha encendido ya el jacuzzi y la sauna seca !!!!! Gratuito ,super limpio ,acogedor ...con ducha ,vestuario ..... Gracias José por hacer de tu hogar ,el nuestro también!!! Estoy deseando volver

Escogimos este hotel porque tenia buenas referencias y el lugar me parecio un lugar con detalle y cuidado, realmente no nos equivocamos, Jose Manuel, el propietario es muy amable, nos dio un cálido recibimiento, nos mostro el hotel y me parecio encantador. La habitación amplia y camas cómodas. Las cenas deliciosas y sobretodo destacar, entre otras cosas, las croquetas, tortilla de patatas, ensaladas, que con mucho esmero nos preparó J.M. El pueblo es pequeños y tiene diversos caminos para conocer la zona, al propio tiempo nos informaron de otras alternativas para conocer la comarca. Nos encanto y si volvemos por la zona, repetiremos.
