Diamond of Bodrum

Upon arrival we were met with nice, smiling, cheerful and helpful reception staff and a doorman who showed us to our rooms after a quick check in. We were shown right away where the 24hr bar was, and asked if we required any food after travelling. A late check in, so do no expect a full buffet selection, but sandwiches were tasty enough, and enjoyed by all who had them. We had 2 rooms between 5 of us, my only complaint would be the balcony, maybe been spoilt in the past, but these are more like extended sills than a balcony. When I’m on holiday a hotel room is where you bunk down, refresh and go again. The rooms are fresh and clean. House keeping visit every day. Beds are comfy enough with good heavy pillows that won’t do a disappearing act through the night. Bathroom was also clean and tidy, always had hot water for showering, possibly could do with an extraction fan in the bathrooms. Mini fridge had fizzy drinks and bottled water the first day, then just water thereafter, but again, with drinks included in the all inclusive, it didn’t bother us. Quite happy with water if needing a drink through the night. The TV worked as you expect, mostly local tv with few English channels, but again, if I wanted to watch TV, I would have stayed at home and done so there. Various WC’s throughout the hotel so you are never far away from one. Roof terrace bar, nice for drinks to watch the sun setting over a view consisting of Bodrum bay and castle, with a choice and cakes through out the day. Also couchs and tables indoor overlooking the reception for a more chilled evening. Main reception bar, 24hr drinks available with same views as roof terrace but behind a wall of glass with access to a small outdoor smoking area. Pool bar again offering drinks throughout the day, and poolside snack bar does food ice cream. Restaurant was always well kept, clean and tidy, and empty plate taken away as and when required. Plenty drinks available, tea and coffee on tap if required. Food always fresh, And always something you manage to eat from. Could possibly do with more kid friendly options, but again, that’s being picky. Cakes……. Well, you will not be disappointed. There is a restaurant on the bottom floor, but we didn’t use this one, so I cannot say any more other than it is there, with is also the beach bar facility, which can be accessed by entering a man made cave access to the hotel. This was quite cool. Facilities…….. The pool……… not huge, but fine, chilly to get into, but nice when you are in. Water always very clean. Various Spa treatment can be purchased within the hotel. Free use of the sauna (used this a few times) and also the gym. Kids can use this too, with parents present, which is good. The beach area. As mentioned, this can be accessed directly from the hotel complex by going through a cave, or by crossing the road, which I imagine will be quite busy when cruise boats are docked. Would I use the hotel again………? Yes I would.

This hotel is close to a decent 3/4 star hotel however a couple of things really let it down and they are pretty basic. The negatives The rooms are an absolute joke. We booked an economy and garden view room and requested these be as close to each other as possible due to being a family of 5 and split across both rooms. We were placed on the 3rd floor, the economy room was very basic, not the cleanest and in desperate need of a refurb but it was acceptable for what we paid. The garden view room, was barely a garden view...it looks onto an enclosed small piece of soil with some trees. The room was a disgrace, toilet was brown with some sort of rust or corrosion, The beds were awful, like sleeping on a lumpy piece of wood and the air con was non existent. Due to this room not being anywhere near the other room the hotel kindly moved us closer. This time it was a 'balcony room' however the balcony was about 2ft deep and looked directly onto a brick wall. The Air con was worse than non existent and made noises similar to a a washing machine with a brick inside it. Again the beds were horrendous. Complaining, we were moved next door which had a less noisy AC however again it wasn't the best (id dred to think of how warm it would be in the rooms in summer). Beds again not great and the room smelled of smoke. We made do with this for the week however this really let down our holiday. Around the hotel there are some things wrong which are so basic, missing lights, stair wells in darkness. Oh and the housekeeping is pretty rotten, twice in the week they took our towels and forgot to leave fresh ones and then took 2 hours to find clean towels for us. Positives Taking the room and other minor issues like the housekeeping and lights out of the equation we enjoyed everything else. The food is excellent, typical all inclusive fare, and not a massive selection but everything was very well cooked and varied each night. There is the standard buffet with an outdoor grill doing omelettes at breakfast, kebabs/pizza during lunch and pasta and other dishes for dinner. There is also a ala carte on floor 1 which we tried for lunch and was tasty. The pool area was great, plenty of seats (albeit the hotel wasn't full) and the pool was nice. The location is excellent, right on the beach and 5 min walk to the centre, Bodrum is a lovely place with loads of market shops, restaurants and bars. Overall, we loved our week in Bodrum. Would i return to this hotel, no chance. If they sorted the rooms out then definitely yes, but i couldn't sleep another night in those rooms no matter how cheap they offered it.

Location: Absolutely perfect, A 5* location, only a few minutes on foot to the city center, to the Sea front beach port, bars, restaurants, .....etc The hotel is on the beach front with its own private area with beds and umbrellas so you don’t have to pay for one and can sit in comfort by the sea. Views: Spectacular! Still in love with it, Amazing views from every levels of the hotel. Staff: Really helpful, Bar staff are great, making great cocktails all day. Restaurant staff are great too, as soon as you sit down for a meal, they are ready to pour water and ask what drink you would like.... They’re ready to claim your dirty plates once you’ve finished. Food: Wasn't a great variety I experienced but way more than enough, many tasty authentic Turkish foods to choose from, great variety of salads 🥗. Large amount of cakes, fruits and nuts, etc. Room: clean, cosy with great view. Walkability: You don't have to use bus or taxi, everything is so close. If you like walking exercise, this hotel is for you - early morning walk along the beach, night walk to high street where all the shops, restaurants, bars are. The city is so lively and vibrant. I highly recommend this hotel to whoever want to visit Bodrum - Diamond of Bodrum hotel is The One to book with.

We visited Turkey and stayed at the Diamond of bodrum hotel last week for a week during Easter holidays we as a family of 6 loved the hotel, we had a nice view from our room balcony we could see bodrum castle which was nice , the room was nice and clean and cleaned everyday. The staff were all friendly and nice made us feel welcome , the food was good on some days but my kids were happy to have snack bar most of the time. The hotel is a short walk from bodrum shopping centre I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

After reading many bad reviews I was dreading our 12 days away at the Diamond of Bodrum hotel. However after our stay, I couldn’t recommend it enough. Me and my friend enjoyed it that much, our 3rd day into the holiday, we decided to book another 12 days stay here for June! The staff: They couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly down from the receptionists, the waiters& waitresses, bar men& women, cleaners, service staff were all so friendly and helpful. The hard work they put in, in such hot temperatures and still manage to be so jolly and full of delight is beyond me. The guest relations lady was so helpful and answered all of our questions regarding Bodrum & the hotel. The food: The food was all cooked to perfection and although some foods were not to all peoples taste, there was something for everybody & lots of it. The pool snack bar was very popular serving pizzas & different day time snacks that you could eat sat down or even on your sunbed. The drinks: Options of many soft drinks, coke, Fanta, ice tea etc. But for alcohol drinkers.. the cocktails were amazing - blue lagoon, mojito , s*x on the beach, tequila sunrise etc.. all made from scratch ( as I know many all inclusive have these already made up ). Bottles of water were provided and could help yourself via a fridge in the lobby. Bar locations in the hotel include the terrace, the lobby, the pool bar, snack bar restaurant… all though have different opening & closing times, the lobby remains open 24hrs. Cleanliness: I seen a few reviews regarding how unclean the rooms were. They were spotless! Our lovely cleaner would come everyday and do a fantastic job of refreshing our room and bed sheets were changed every few days & towels changed most days also. Location: The hotel overlooked the sea front, Bodrum castle, Kos was seen in the distance as well as bodrum centre. Bodrum centre was around a 10 minute walk where there’s many shops, restaurants, bars and the beautiful marina also. We never used transport whilst here but we heard the busses are regular and taxis are a couple of pound to bodrum centre.

As a whole the Diamond offered us everything we hoped for as a last-minute booking. Unfortunately our rooms overlooked an inner atrium so no natural light but only ever in there to sleep so didn't make much difference .. probably because of booking last-minute. Food was average but there is plenty of it and every type of food is on offer. The staff were all brilliant. Couldn't do enough to help. Very close to Bodrum shopping main street & Castle but without the masses on your doorstep. Beach was clean and quiet.

Location is right on the beach front with its own private area with beds and umbrellas so you don’t have to pay for one and can sit in comfort by the sea. You could not want a better service. As soon as you sit down for a meal, they are ready to pour water and ask what drink you would like. They’re ready to claim your dirty plates once you’ve finished. There are different locations to grab a drink, and the service never alters. Rooms are big enough with air conditioning. There is a variety of food on offer. On the terrace there’s a patisserie with small delights, icecream and waffles service poolside, down on the ground floor they class it as a snack bar between 12-5 but they serve pizza, fried chicken, salads and burgers. Perfect for a picky eater!

In my opinion, the hotel was quite beautiful, although small, due to being April it wasn’t as busy therefore it was enough space for everyone and everything. The choice of food was quite limited, however you could find pizza and kebabs which were quite nice ,the drinks were also lovely and not strong. The rooms were clean and for the price that was payed the hotel was a nice getaway. The staff was very hard working and kind. The only improvement I would suggest is adding more tables outside as many people preferred eating outside rather than inside, and there was a lack of tables. The best thing about the hotel was the stunning location and views from all parts of the hotel. You could see the sea from everywhere in the hotel, a room with sea view is so worth it.The roof bar was absolutely stunning. It’s also just a 5 min walk from the centre which was very convenient for us.

An honest review from a UK/London reviewer. I will add some pictures soon. When we first arrived at the hotel, I was a little taken back to be totally honest. We have travelled throughout Turkey and the last time I've been to Bodrum was over 10 years ago, but this experience was with my family, and the last with the friends! All of the resorts I have been to have always been really big and had so many facilities, and this was a very small almost boutique hotel, so don’t expect the normal huge resort. Last experience was terrible in Side, so I was apprehensive, considering it was the people in Side that made it a holiday from hell. But this was the COMPLETE opposite! The staff made this holiday one of the best I have been in such a long time! WOW! SOME NEGATIVES/CONS FIRST: NO KIDS pool- So if you are travelling with children, there is NO kids pool apart from a toddler one, which is about. 1.5 meters wide. Yes about 1.5 meeters-2 meres wide. It is not a pool, but more for dipping toes in. The hotel confirmed they have no kids pool. Entertainment-NONE for the kids. They do not cater for the kids of any ages, and they made that clear. So, if you have children, there is no entertainment. AirCon- The aircon is like a fan. It blows out cold air, so it is not a full aircon, but it did the job for us. Don’t expect a totally cool room. Rooms-Really really out of dated rooms and quite dirty and certainly needs a renovation throughout the place. Beach-Unfortunately, this is a pebble beach. There is no sand, so if you decide you want to build a sandcastle, that won’t happen! Sorry! (That probably seems like a lot, but just pointing it out for everyone so you are aware!) PROS: STAFF- 10 out of 5. Yes, 10 out of 5. It was the staff that made this memorable. They are some of the best and nicest staff we have met throughout all of our trips to Turkey. Feray, the guest relations is absolutely awesome and a total credit to the hotel. As soon as we walked in, she jumped on the seat to tell us about the hotel with a wide smile and experience of different things available. The desk staff could not be anymore helpful (sorry forgot names!) and they were always on call when needed. Feray spoke perfect English as did the other manager it seemed. He was also excellent. Young boy with glasses was also great. The waiters such as Murat and Yilmaz were amazing. Everyone was so attentive and always smiling. They alone, made this holiday amazing and we urge the owners to take heed and look at these reviews and see the amazing work the staff do. LOCATION-5/5. The location was spot on. Amazing location with everything needed just around the corner. From the hotel, about a 5-10 minutes walk take you to the lively and busy area. Lots of restaurants, cafes, bars, shopping for clothes, bags and much more. Lots of amazing seafood restaurants as well, so certainly worth the visit, which is easy access through the beach.
