Staymor Hotel

I think this is the first bad review i have ever written as we were so disappointed. We had been lookong forward to staying here as other reviews raved about the place, and the owners however: We arrived Friday night and the owners were in the bar are with friends or family which is grand apart from the wife of the couple was passed out drunk on the chair. The room was small and basic but grand apart from - the door to the room dint close properly unless you slammed it, and i mean slam it. It took as 4 goes that evening to close on our way out to go find water for the room. This was about 9.30pm and we were aware there were families staying so felt awful about the noise we were making trying to close a door! The carpet and bed seemed clean but there was a layer of dust on the lamp shade. I actually took a picture as i couldn't believe how bad it was. The windows didn't close as the locks were old and worn (again have a pic). And curtains were hanging off the rail. The bathroom was small but had everything you need however the toilet didn't flush well. It took about 6 flushes to clear the toilet after No.2! The shower head was on a fixed holder which when you turned on was angled perfectly to shoot through the shower curtain and soak the bathroom floor and the water didn't drain away so only one of us had a shower as it would have overflowed the tray (the owner did go up when we were out with a plugger so we were able to get evening showers no problem). The dinning room closed for what looked like redecorating which we had not known about before we arrived. The main front door got closed at night so you used your key to get back in. The owner told us you may need to giggle it a little but both nights it took more than a little giggling! One of the nights me must have been outside for at least 3mins trying to open the door! Might not sound like a long time but when you need to pee! I actually thought we were not going to get the door open at all. On the Saturday we spoke to the owner about our plans, to go to Pleasure Beach. He laughed and said good luck with that! I know when you come from somewhere you can get a bit negative about it sometimes but he is a 'hotel' owner, right beside Pleasure Beach therefore he should be more enthusiastic about it all with his guests! I was in the bar area only once as it is not the bright room showen in the pictures bit dull as curtains slowed permanently and smells if smoke despite there being signs about say £100 fine of smoking in rooms. I know this all sounds like a big rant but we truly were so disappointed. The owners seem to have given up caring about their 'hotel'. We had a picture in our mind of a basic but clean 'hotel' with great craic from owners and other guests. This was not our experience at all. We were due to stay 3 nights but only stayed 2 nights. When we gave the key back the owner didn't seem to have a clue we were leaving a night early. We debated about whether to say any

Owners were under the influence on arrival. No hot water in taps, tv not working and rooms very basic, linen didnt smell very fresh. Needs a good update. Only positive, good location and parking available. Owners seemed pleasant but shouldn't be running a BnB :(

Lovely host and great value stay! Felt safe, comfortable and clean. Would definitely come back again :) You can’t get much better than this in terms of location at such a great price! The room was exactly as advertised and we had a great view of the sea!

Stayed there about5 mths ago after meeting up with some pals from ireland, Enjoyed it so much,mainly because the hosts chris and millie where great,the hotel was very good ,clean and great value for money,drinks where very reasonably priced,breakfast was excellent and again great vfm.. Ideally positioned with a tram stop just opposite yet although just after the big one(the theme park)it is just out of the mayhem of the centre (not noisey but a cockstride away) When I go to blackpool that is now my first choice hotel. Recently home after a family weekend in Blackpool fantastic hotel and fantastic hosts we couldn't fault the hotel at all breakfast was superb we will definitely visit again highly recommended easy access to and from central pier

Fantastic place to stay when visiting Blackpool . Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you . Room was clean , breakfast delicious, beer kept very well and the bar was great to have in the place we were staying. Just across the road from the beach so I could see the sea from our window. My little lad buzzed off the place and can't wait to go back there .
