The Feathers Hotel

Absolutely disgusting this hotel, would never recommend or return! Arrived alone, with two children 5 and 1 years old also pregnant. Was told we had to be on top floor so we were out of the way? When we were checking in the owner didn’t really know what he was doing and was all over the place as if he was drunk. He was in the lobby with another man drinking and watching somthing on a laptop together with in-cents smoking next to them. We were given room 17 on the top floor with about 5 flights of stairs. I never got offered any help or assistance with showing us where our room was. Once I got to my room I was disgusted to see that the room was filthy and had a foul smell to it damp and foist. The full hotel had plug ins everywhere of course to help disguise the smell until you get to your room. There was no travel cot and the room walls were thick of blue mould. The wall paper is supposed to be brown however has changed to blue with all the mould. I then went back downstairs to go address this where no one was to be seen or found to complain about this too. Each day (two nights in total) I rang, pressed the ring door bell and kept a look out for someone and nobody was ever around to help! Absolutely disgusting and definitely not somewhere to take children. We all need a tetanus injection after visiting this dump! AVOID

Avoid this place at all costs. Arrived just before 3 and room not ready yet. Shower was ice cold and no hot water what so ever. We arrived back from night at winter gardens and couldn't get in the front door, the key wouldn't work in the lock, tried the door bell for about 20 mins and no response, no answer on the telephone number provided. We ended up having to throw stones at another guests window for around 10 mins to get in. So we sat in the rain and cold for around 30 mins. Not impressed. When we tried the key in the door it would work on lock inside but not outside. Another couple was also trying to get in and they didn't even have a door key. There was dirty laundry and pots and rubbish in the hallway downstairs which was there when we arrived and still their when we left. No sign of anyone working here what so ever, no one ever in reception. If I could give zero stars I would. This place needs removing from all websites.

Wouldn’t go again bed room very small bathroom very small and horrible. No heating and if it was put on it would be dangerous cause the bed is touching the radiator. There’s no bar or breakfast which IT says there is on a write up on google regarding the hotel.cheap hotel but not a nice room all atmosphere.
