Elphinstone Hotel

Was little disappointed in hotel as Biggar is a lovely town then had taken a shower then found shower trap full of hair absolutely disgusting obviously there cleaning staff aren’t doing there job properly wouldn’t stay here again stayed in room 2 for one night would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone

Stayed here the 21/7/24 as was attending a wedding at Cornhill castle 22/7/24 Firstly staff were so lovely pre order system for breakfast was good and worked fine breakfast was lovely ,lovely produce very tasty The rooms are dated but they are clean lovely crisp white bedding , bed was very comfortable tea and coffee facilities Bathroom was clean but small , definitely need to improve these as room 6 and my sisters room 5 both had very mouldy sealant around the bath and it wouldn’t take much to sort it We also had issue with noisy pipe work but this is a very old building We paid £102 for a night I wouldn’t pay anymore than this I would stay again

Great stopover location, lovely staff, excellent breakfast - Ella was brilliant, very pleasant and accommodating. Free on street parking outside We didn’t have an evening meal however the food looked amazing. Would definitely recommend

Excellent location in the centre of Biggar. Room was adequate with all basic needs, however we did have a problem with the shower. This was reported and the lovely member of staff apologised profusely and discounted our bill, which was unnecessary. We eat in the restaurant, the food was fantastic. Breakfast was beautifully served and all products fresh and local. The meat wS exceptional. Good parking out on the front and a very welcoming environment.

Excellent! We spent 2 nights here and the friendly staff were the nicest we have experienced in a long time. Couldn’t be more helpful, very polite and welcoming. The food is excellent too. (Would recommend the fish pie) The only small gripe we could mention is that the rooms are a bit dated. Very clean but dated. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly and the room was lovely. Breakfast was included and not bad. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Parking right outside the hotel. Beds were comfortable and clean.
