Saint Charles Hôtel & Coliving Biarritz

We had a wonderful stay! It is a really special place and beautiful!. Very nice service. The place is great and original. Close to all the things u need and just a short walk to the beach. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks for a great visit!!

I came to Biarritz as a solo traveller and booked one night in this lovely hotel. It has a very cute, romantic charm to it. Very nice and attentive staff, the rooms and their interior are just as displayed on the website. I would come back any time and highly recommend :)

Elegant chic yet simple boutique hotel in the equally elegant Saint Charles area of Biarritz . staff were wonderful very helpful good choice of breakfast if required as extra . 10 mins from the sea, town centre . a great mix of elegant modern historical down to earth .3 beaches main beach great for surfers big Atlantic waves either side good too

Once in a while, when you travel, you come across a little hidden gem of a place that stays with you forever, and ensures your holiday is everything you wished it could be. I can safely say this was my experience at this wonderful establishment. Now I want to make clear here that everyone’s expectations are different; if you are after 5* luxury and to be waited on hand and foot, with peach & lavender soaps in your shower and chocolates left on your pillow case, this isn’t necessarily right up your alley. The truth is, when I go travelling, I’m all about the authenticity of the place, and the people behind it. After a gruelling winter weathered summer in the UK, I was adamant I needed to see the sun one last time before I bury myself under the winter blanket. I woke up Tuesday to rain on my window, again, and that was that. 3 days later I arrived in Biarritz, and all I wanted was an adventure, a bit of love and a bit of self care. Oh and the sun of course. As soon as I was greeted at Hotel st Charles by the charming owner Zara, I just had that feeling you get when you stumble upon something others haven’t quite discovered yet. The hotel itself is a beautiful old building, nestled in a charming overgrown garden- with architecture reminding me of the colonial houses in New Orleans. I personally don’t need a valet to take my bags in, or a perfectly manicured garden ; my welcome was warm, genuine and caring, and engaging, and that’s all I could ask for. The reception lasted 20 minutes, with some amazing recommendations of restaurants (all of which I visited in my next 4 days- and boy was she right!) as well as a proper map of Biarritz. Straight away I felt welcome, and ready for my adventure. However, what transpired over the next 4 days I just cant really put into words. Yes the room was lovely, yes the hotel is cute, and yes its all round very charming. However its not that, that leads me to write this review- and I must say as as a frequent traveller I never leave reviews- but its genuinely the people there that touched my heart and made my Biarritz trip one I will never forget. By day 4, we were invited to dine with the entire staff body for the owners birthday, welcoming me like part of their mad tribe, making me feel like this hotel was my home. I was away from home, but at home at the same time. That is a feeling that makes any stay a great stay- and not the 5* luxuries some of us seem to crave for without knowing exactly why. The entire staff body here, with beaming beautiful smiles on their faces, let a randomer sit at their table, tell tales and drink their wine, with loe, affection, and genuine genuine warmth. And I cannot thank them enough. Sometimes holidays come down to single moments, and although I had the most amazing time in Biarritz because of multiple reasons (I loved the surf, and the food is unreal), there is one memory I will never forget. Covid regulations totally ignored. Customers wore no mask inside the hotel even though covid passes were not required/double checked upon check in. Staff didn't ask customers to wear mask inside the premises either. Felt unsafe. Very friendly & helpful staff. Rooms in need of refurbishment. Comfortable bed. Smelly old carpet. Tiny, train style bathroom.

Everything was great. Lovely management and staff. Cute building. Good locale. Decent sized room with ensuite at a good rate. The co-living option is a good choice for longer stays with access to a kitchenette. Would return!

Great experience in the room with terrace, my wife and I enjoyed every day of the full week stay. The staff and the owner are really great and welcoming, always keen to help whenever needed. We found our little green spot when we come to Biarritz. Greatly recommend it.

Ancienne du coin, j'ai enfin trouvé mon "chez moi" quand je reviens. Merci pour tout les filles, tout es parfait et j'avais l'impression d'habiter à nouveau à Biarritz. Chambre propre et sympa (moi aussi je prendrai la terrasse par contre la prochaine fois, ça semble être le grand luxe+++), accueil extraordinaire, petit déjeuner aussi, cadre cosy, tranquille, bref, le meilleur que je connaisse!
