This place is something special. An old railway station that was brought back to life and turned into a comfy set of appartments and a high quality restaurant. Everything here looks as if taken from the 1st decade of the 20th century. One of the accommodation options are luxury late-tzar era railway wagons. All details inside were meticulously selected - from a heavy wooden desk, to a stylish bathtub with ornamented legs. You may really feel like a Russian tzar travelling to his hunting palace in Białowieża. Although a wagon is basically a tin can, don’t worry about the temperature inside during summer because there is an efficient AC system installed inside. And yes, each wagon/room is equipped with its own WiFi that works quite decently. On-site you may also enjoy a micro museum with several examples of vintage steam engines. The place is located some 2 kilometers from the centre of Białowieża, very close to the border with Belarus. You shouldn’t be worried though because it’s very peaceful and quiet and a strong presence of the army in this area gives you a sense of security. The restaurant would require a separate review but I would say that it is a level up from what you would expect from a place like this. The menu is heavily biased with game and this may be a problem for many of us, but still you can find other options, like delicious blinis with salmon or sturgeon. On top of that you should add a selection of delicious desserts and spirits. The food is not cheap but beautifully served and having your dinner at one of the external tables is a very relaxing experience indeed. The staff is extremely helpful, ready to engage in an interesting conversation and bikers can count on additional help from them, like anti-mosquito spray or a locked room to safely store your bike. One word of caution: the breakfast serving time is between 9 and 11 AM only, so it is quite short and not very convenient for long sleepers. In summary: this is one of the most enjoyable places I have stayed at during my Polish holidays. If you plan to visit the beautiful region of Białowieża and you’re not tight on budget then you shouldn’t think twice!
