Base Camp Snowdonia

Amazing stay, super clean shared accommodation, lovely staff, couple of nice of shops and food places within walking distance and a perfect location only being a short drive for anyone hiking around snowdonia, cheap and very cheerful! 100% recommend.

What a little gem within the heart of Betws-y-Coed. Super friendly and helpful staff, well stocked bar, great coffee. Rooms are lovely - I stayed in a 4 berth room; nicely furnished, comfy beds and good privacy with each bed having its own curtain. Each room has its own shower and bathroom, which is way more preferable than having communal facilities. Also, it’s set in such a gorgeous village. Will definitely visit again

Absolute gold dust - a fabulous new hostel that is absolutely superb. I've stayed in many, but this is amazing. Strong WiFi throughout, lovely staff who are genuinely interested in their guests, curtains and pug sockets on the individual beds, the shower rooms are individual with drench shower heads or hand held option. Cold craft beer for sale in a lovely downstairs lounge. Parking for a small charge too. Thank you guys. I will definitely return.

Fantastic hosts and overall experience. The facilities are modern and well looked after, and the hosts were all friendly and welcoming. I stayed for x4 nights in a shared male dorm, the beds were very comfy and the building (although other guests were staying) provided an excellent nights sleep. Location-wise it's the epicentre of Snowdonia, perfectly positioned to reach most major attractions. I'll be returning. Best of luck with the new venture, Betws-y-Coed should be proud of this new addition to the list of high quality businesses it hosts.

My son and I stayed at Base Camp Snowdonia 27/28 September 2024. We were originally going to book into one of the more traditional bunk houses that we’ve used in the past and always thoroughly enjoyed. By chance we saw the website for Base Camp and immediately decided to try it out. The modern décor, the fresh coffee maker and the awesome looking showers, were all factors as were the curtains across the front of the bunks making the dorms more into a room of private pods. Anyone who has stayed in a dorm will know how lovely it is to listen to fellow hikers snoring or to face the stern looks of those same people in the morning who had to listen to your snoring. Anyway, I waffle. The stay was just lovely, the vibe is cool and chilled out, the coffee was ace and the showers everything I hoped for. There is also beer in the fridge and vegan chocolate muesli for breakfast. I highly recommend you give this place a try. We will certainly be using it for our next visit.

Perfect location for walks around the Snowdonia area. Room was comfortable, clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for affordable accommodation. Great for groups, couples and solo traveler's. Will definitely book again.
