We've just spent a weekend at The Cavern as a family, the youngest member being five months, and the oldest being seventy years old. All eleven of us had the most marvelous time in the beautiful surroundings with comfy rooms, friendly staff and delicious meals. It's a pleasant journey from Johanneburg and KZN so you arrive just in time for a scrumptious lunch. Kids under seven are catered for in the kids' dining room with friendly staff taking care of them at every meal an absolute bonus for the parents who are able to enjoy their meals. .There are so many nooks and crannies in the rambling hotel, it's an absolute delight. You're able to walk out of the grounds and start hiking without having to drive. It's an absolute must for birders too, we saw many species.

Lovely and peaceful stay at the Caverns. Friendly staff and wonderful food. We enjoyed our long and short guided walks and pretty views. We live in the US, but would love to come back some time.

The Cavern is one of my favourite places to stay. From delicious meals, also catering for vegetarians like me, to spacious rooms and well-appointed bathrooms. Staff are friendly and helpful and our walking guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The Cavern is great for families and those without children alike, with a few quiet spaces provided for those who want some peace & quiet. Stunning views into the valley and of the majestic mountain behind the resort. We also had blissful massages at the peaceful spa tucked away in the forest. And only 4 hours from Johannesburg. Highly recommended!

The Cavern is one of those places you hear people rave about, but if you haven't personally been, you don't quite believe it can be that great. Well, we finally got to visit, and it more than lived up to its reputation. The hotel is homely without being outdated, the rooms are vibrant and updated and the food is outstanding. The service is warm and attentive and having laid on guided hikes with friendly and knowledgeable guides, makes for an awesome experience. Great value for money. We will definitely be back.

Everything was perfect as usual, food was amazing, staff were amazing, room was exceptional, location is out of this world, we had another great stay at The Cavern, I first went to The Cavern in the late sixties as a kid, been going there on and off since then, we have been fortunate to get to go there twice this year, well worth the 12 hour flight from the UK, our favourite berg resort, already planning our next stay, well done Megan and Hilton, keep up the exceptional work.

The nanny services were amazing, the children's activities were great, the food was delicious, the hikes on offer exactly what we were looking for, the room was perfect. I can't think of a single complaint or suggestion. We loved our stay and will certainly be back as soon as possible.

During our honeymoon getaway, our initial visit left us utterly spellbound. The breathtaking views surpassed all expectations, truly taking us to another realm. The exceptional treatment we received made us feel like royalty, and the warmth of the hospitality extended to us was truly unforgettable. Days later, we still find ourselves lost in thoughts of this extraordinary place, its charm lingering in our minds.

What a beautiful place. Stunning scenery , great walking . 2 walks a day organised with delightful guides. Great rooms, super service and excellent food. Beautiful pool to relax in after a mornings exercise. Nothing negative to say, we loved it and will hopefully be back as soon as possible

The Cavern is an excellent place to stay. Beautiful setting in the mountains, lovely walks, good meals, Morning and afternoon teas - what more could you ask for. The perfect family hotel in the perfect setting.
