Ava Resort Cancun - All Inclusive

It is a great resort, highly recommended, everything is luxurious and very friendly in every way. The only thing missing is a little more variety in the gastronomy, since everything else is still short. I recommend the guys at the bar, Porfirio and Sebastian, they are the best, excellent at their job.

We renewed our wedding vows and used the on-site photography, J&J Studio. We worked with Alejandra, the photography wedding coordinator, and she was very pleasant and accommodating to our needs. The photographer, Eder, was very patient and worked with us and our ideas during the photo shoot. The wedding department in general, was a joy to work with.

We stayed at AVA Cancun for a week for our family reunion as "Chairman" guests, and while we made some beautiful memories, I wanted to share honest feedback in the hopes that management listens. The Good: We were a large group, and being together made the trip special. The resort itself is massive and beautiful, and a few incredible staff members really made it feel like home. -Dining: The food at the à la carte restaurants was excellent. Chef Seleste is truly talented. We were also really impressed by the French chefs. Room service was always fast and delicious—shoutout to Arturo who brought our orders at night and was always kind and professional. The churros are a must. Our favorite restaurant was Baho—the food was 10/10 and service was super speedy. Legendary breakfast was another highlight (don’t skip the eggs Benedict!). We also liked Black Steakhouse. The Mexican restaurant, however, was disappointing. Slow service, stressed-out staff, and my sister's food didn’t arrive until everyone else was done eating. -Entertainment Team: Gio was our standout of the week. Her energy during fitness classes and activities was unmatched. King Ava was so fun, thanks Gio! We also loved trivia with Oscar at the Digit Bar. And Eliseo? An absolute gem! so fun, genuine, and one of the best ambassadors of the AVA brand. These three made what could’ve been a boring hotel experience way more enjoyable. -Pool Areas: Beautiful and super clean; not a piece of trash in sight. Tons of chairs available and great poolside service from Lalo, who was very attentive and kind. Honestly, the pools are so nice you don’t even miss the beach. -Butlers: Tharvin and Brissia were so helpful, professional, and patient; especially with our elderly parents. They helped make our trip stress-free and enjoyable. They went above and beyond. These guys work HARD! -Spa: Highly recommend! I had a massage from Idei, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. What Could Be Better: -Lack of Vibe: The biggest issue is that the hotel just feels a bit sterile. It lacks character. It needs more personality and energy. There’s so much potential, but not enough activities or live entertainment. The Chairman pool, especially, could use music or something to bring it to life. Most events happen near the aquatic pool, which unfortunately smells very strongly of sargassum. It’s not the resort’s fault, but activities could be moved farther down where the smell isn’t so overwhelming. -Art Around the Resort: This may sound small, but the artwork really brings down the atmosphere. It’s trying to be modern, but it comes off as CHEAP and even a little ridiculous. It is just AWFUL. No exaggeration here. Mexico has so many amazing artists! why not showcase more local talent that guests can actually connect with? It would go a long way toward improving the hotel’s vibe. -Music/DJs: The DJs were honestly pretty bad. The only one we truly enjoyed was a guest DJ named Leondis from Florida—he was fantastic.

We recently stayed at this hotel in Cancun and while there were some highlights, there are quite a few areas that need improvement. The staff were friendly, and the room was clean and well-maintained. The magician show was excellent, and our kids really enjoyed it. However, there are several downsides that made the stay less enjoyable overall. 👎 Food & Dining: The buffet is surprisingly small for the size of the hotel, especially compared to other large resorts we’ve stayed at. The variety is limited, and the street-service food areas don’t help much either. The Italian restaurant was disappointing, and although they say they cater for vegans, there were barely any real vegan options available.The waiter on the other hand was really good. The Japanese restaurant was the one standout — nicely done and very accommodating with vegan meals. But that’s one positive out of several missed opportunities across other dining venues. Room service was also very poor — slow and with food that wasn’t up to standard. 👎 Family & Kids: Breakfast options were particularly bad for kids. My children had to eat pancakes every single morning because there were no vegan option or healthy kid-friendly options. This really needs to be addressed if the hotel is promoting itself as family-friendly. Daytime entertainment was okay but limited for children, and it often felt like the activities focused more on adults than actually engaging kids. 👎 Beach & Water Sports: Another unexpected disappointment was the beach — not the nicest compared to others in Cancun. Worse, there were no water sports available at the hotel. We had to travel up to the Hotel Zone to find even basic water activities, which should absolutely be available at a beachfront resort. ⸻ ✅ Summary: • ✅ Friendly service • ✅ Clean rooms • ✅ Great magician show • ✅ Japanese restaurant was a plus for vegans • ❌ Poor buffet and limited food options • ❌ Terrible room service • ❌ No variety for kids’ meals, especially breakfast • ❌ No on-site water sports • ❌ Beach quality below expectations This hotel has potential, but until they seriously improve the food service, kids’ offerings, and beach facilities, we would choose another hotel.High lights is the staff they are really good and friendly what is amazing to see

Buffet was from average to low compared to other all inclusive experiences, especially at night. Restaurants booked full with still many empty tables inside ( looked more like shortness of staff or $ saving strategy)Drinks were pretty good and good quality. The sherry on the top was the food poisoning me and other 5 of my group developed a day after being back home (luckily ) from the salad, worse sick days of my life.

I’ve stayed at multiple resorts in Cancun, including Moon Palace (The Grand, Sunrise, Nizuc), Sun Palace, Cozumel Palace, the Hard Rock, and Club Med. In comparing the quality of service and overall stay, AVA fell short in several areas. The staff at AVA were not very friendly or engaging. While they were attentive during meals, there wasn’t much warmth. At Moon Palace resorts, every employee greets you and acknowledges your presence. At AVA, some employees seemed unprofessional or avoided eye contact altogether, which impacted the overall atmosphere. The food selection at AVA lacked variety, and I would have appreciated more fresh fruit and vegetables at the buffet. Out of all of the resorts I have stayed at, the buffets at AVA were my least favorite. On the positive side, I really enjoyed the live music at night. Many of the bars and restaurants featured live singers, which created a great ambiance. I also liked the easy access to soda cans throughout the day—it made getting drinks convenient. The gym was a standout feature. As an avid gym-goer, I was impressed by how clean, well-equipped, and aesthetically pleasing it was. I genuinely looked forward to working out there every day. Entertainment-wise, I highly recommend the movie trivia at the NFT Bar and the "King AVA" show. Both were fun, family-friendly events that were well organized and entertaining. My family stayed under the Legendary Residential status, which is the highest level of membership. We had two staff members assigned to us for support throughout the trip. They were helpful and ensured our needs were met, which we appreciated. Overall, AVA has some highlights, particularly in fitness and entertainment, but the service and food experience didn’t meet the high standards set by other resorts in the area.
