We went to Seward to go whale watching. It was 6 of us and we rented 2 rooms in BLB. We went off season so it was quiet and just our family! The place is special and has such a good energy to it. Additional Bre was a star…cooked us 2 unbelievable breakfasts! GO!

If you’re coming to enjoy the amazing scenery, hikes and kayaking in Seward the. You can’t go past staying here. Just a short 10 minute drive from downtown Seward you will find yourself in the serene lake setting of Bear Lake (yes there are bears on bear lake!) The lovely ladies - Shannon & Skye - who look after you are the chattiest and friendliest people you could hope for, as are the other guests you can meet while enjoying an evening wine or a delicious breakfast. We stayed in the Aurora View with our teenage daughter, the cosiest and largest bed so far in Alaska and a seperate little equally cosy bedroom for our daughter - she was one happy little bear to have her own space for three nights - the attached bathroom is huge and all brand new. Outside is a communal deck with a gas fire pit looking out towards the mountains and lake making a peaceful place to while away the long Alaskan nights. Bring some s’mores things as there’s also a wood fire pit down below! We paddled the lake in the kayaks provided and this was a beautiful morning, gently gliding down to the stream that is teeming with salmon. I would highly recommend you book early to stay here as it was full every night and you will see why when you get here! Thank you Bre and Joey for providing such a beautiful place for our stay.

Thank you to the entire staff and owners at Bear Lake B&B: Bre, Skye, Shannon, Joey…from start to finish, Bre and crew helped me organize our first summer trip to Alaska for our family of 5. We were able to split up into 2 rooms: Resurrection Peak Room & Aurora View Suite. Bre made sure she set up this adorable sleeping corner for my 13 year old daughter. She LOVED it. We had the most delicious breakfasts, our rooms were so comfortable and cozy. Bear Lake B&B is in a beautiful setting very close to the downtown area. Shannon suggested the BEST hike for our family: Toncina trail. My husband and kids enjoyed an incredible glacier landing and fjords tour with Joey. They also provided a whale watching tour discount code with Northern Latitude Adventures for our family. Our minds were blown at the hospitality and kindness shown to us in Seward.
