Hotel Beau Rivage

To begin with the positive - the staff are wonderful. Very friendly , helpful & hardworking. They deal with quite a few groups, which must have it's special challenges. The location is excellent & the views are spectacular. It's a nice old hotel with real character, but showing it's age in places. It is very clean. They repaired my TV promptly. The complaints are few & not really major. My bathroom was quite small, with a small quadrant shower with quite a high sill that I kept catching my foot on quite painfully. The shower itself had a really small head & little pressure. The walls are thin & not soundproofed, so I got a lot of TV noise until quite late at night & could clearly hear conversation in rooms alongside mine. I really hate noisy hotel rooms, but the corridors are carpeted, so no footstep noise. We had breakfast & evening meal. Breakfast was fine, but the coffee was awful. I didn't particularly enjoy the evening meals which were often lukewarm. It is very much meat oriented with veal & beef, plus a couple of nights of fish. I tried out what they called omelettes. They were really awful, small round "cakes" not freshly cooked, leathery rather than fluffy & with frozen macedoine veg. There was no coffee after the meal & we were very clealy asked to leave so they could lay up for breakfast. There is an "a la carte menu", so I suppose we have to pay the price of being in a group with another big group there at the same time. I loved the area & enjoyed my stay. It is a 3 star hotel.

The food was not very good. Also the bar closed at 10pm which is totally ridiculous when ur supposed to b on holiday. Have to say Maria was an outstanding member of staff, so friendly and always smiling and helpful

We have just returned from a week stay at the Hotel Beau Rivage in Baverno and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the initial very helpful and patient contact to book 6 months ago by Daniel, to the welcome we received on arriving fairly late by Stefan, the constant expert attention from Guilia and all the other staff in reception with regards to our restaurant bookings, the ever smiling cheerful breakfast staff (Giuseppe and hard working effective Ciara) and super housekeeping staff who kept our room's immaculately clean and to our final day when we were offered a complimentary room due to a late flight, we couldn't have asked for a more 5 star experience. The pool area is a bonus and pool towels and loungers were a plenty. We had 5 rooms in total with a mix of lake and garden views. The road is noisy most of the day and night which we didn't mind at all as the lake views more than made up for it, but if you are a light sleeper, the garden/pool views are very pleasant and may be better than the lake view rooms facing the road. The continental breakfast had ample choice and although a little repetitive 6 days in a row, the lovely staff always made everyone feel special so it was a lovely way to start the day. The location is perfect for access to the ferry to explore the Borromean islands and also for our day trips to Milan, Lake Como and the more sandy waterfronts such as Cannobio. The town, Baveno, is apparently more peaceful and quiet compared to its busy neighbour, Stresa, but there are lakefront restaurants and bars on the doorstep of the hotel and if you have a car, it's worth the 5 to 10 min drive to other amazing restaurants that the staff were only too happy to recommend and call to make reservations for us. The WiFi was much better than expected and the communal areas never seemed overcrowded despite the hotel being fully booked. If you are looking for competitively priced accommodation on Lake Maggiore, this is the hotel to stay in and we definitely plan to return.

The stay was simply superb. I was not treated like guest but rather like a member of the family. I’m a very fussy customer, but the manager is exceptionally kind and strived to meet all of needs. The staff is both easy-going and very professional at the same time. The restaurant offers a different set of Italian cuisine choices everyday It’s definitely my place of choice for a vacation in the lake Maggiore area.

Just home from Beau Rivage Hotel, great time, lovely hotel overlooking the lake, really clean, maids in cleaning each day, clean towels and bed made. We had a room at back overlooking the pool and gorgeous gardens, had a balcony plus a solarium which was a surprise. Food all italian, some nicer than others depending on your taste, breakfast continental. Boat station 2 minutes walk away, so ideal location.

If you are planning a visit to Lake Maggiore do yourself a favour and book yourself into Beau Rivage Hotel in Baveno. Although classed as a 3 star hotel it is a lot better than it's rating. The location could not be better. A 2 minute walk gets you to the ferry port which opens up a large part of the lake to you. A selection of top class restaurants and bars right on your doorstep. A beautiful well maintained pool area. Rooms were kept spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel. Food was excellent. All these things make for a great experience but you also need great staff and the staff in Beau Rivage are briliant all wanting to make your stay memorable. If I had to single out one member of staff it would be the always smiling Elena (I hope that's how you spell it) she was always on hand from serving breakfast, afternoon coffee and drinks and still smiling helping to serve the wonderful evening meals. Talking to other tourists who were staying 4 star not far away their hotel experience wasn't anywhere near as positive as ours. Thanks to all at Beau Rivage.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Just across the road from Lake Maggiore. Lovely swimming pool. Good air conditioning in my single room. Great shower even though bathroom a little small. Room very clean. Small but nice bar. Lovely sitting areas outside at back of hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Went on Travelshpere coach trip(which was our first experience on a coach trip) felt we were treated differently in the dining area as the other guest. The dining room was set out in 3 areas uk coach trip , European coach trip and independent. We as a group were largely ignored by staff who focused their attention to the other guest except Maria if not her rating would be 1 so thankyou to her. For our evening meal it was set and not very exciting, breakfast was basic. Room was large and clean with lovely lake view.

Pleasant hotel clean. We were in the front of the hotel and certain times of the day it was quite noisy because of the road. Nice swimming pool. Breakfast was average and plenty available. Very close to nice restaurants and a few shops. Plenty of restaurants on the side of the lake. The hotel did a set menus but we were only staying a couple of nights so did not have time to eat there.
