Where do I begin. Eco Lifestyle and Lodge is a very unique and wonderful experience. It is beautiful, it is quiet, it is so special. The views, the room (we stayed in soup bowl), the staff, the food, sense of community, the monkeys, everything. I have to start with the food. I like healthy, sustainable, locally sourced food. This was all that but much more. The food we had was unlike anything we have ever had and will ever have again. They used local ingrediets to make healthy, delicious, vegetarian or pescatarian food. The flavors were authentic bhajan and some of the vegetables we had never heard of. The Chefs Richard and Reese were as kind and attentive as they were talented. Loved it. Be sure to try the food. We went to every meal that they offered. Don't let "noodle night" or "taco night" mislead you. You will get deep flavors, unique ingredients and a lot of food. The staff made us feel welcome and at home right away. Each person we met on staff was kind, interested and helpful. I was sad to leave them all. Soup bowl was a great room with a full kitchen and great deck overlooking the property and the ocean. We spent a week on the south side of the island before coming to Eco Lodge and enjoyed ourselves on the sandy beaches, touristy areas and so forth but when we got to Ecolodge on the East side we felt like we were on the real Barbados. From the moment we were picked up by Channel we stepped into a new world and totally unique experience. The tiny roads, the fields, the small villages. So fun to experience. We felt so safe and at home walking round the area. We took a fantastic 3 hour hike along the coast with Sea Cat. Not to be missed. We walked along the rocky coast everyday and explored all the local area had to offer. If you are not looking for loud music, night life, pristine beaches but would prefer a peaceful, gorgeous unique setting with amazing food and wonderful staff then don't hesitate to book Eco Lodge.
