We recently stayed at Homewood and, overall, had a pleasant and comfortable visit. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed at reception, which made for a lovely first impression. Our suite was spacious and luxurious, complete with a private jacuzzi, sauna, and cold plunge — a perfect setup for a relaxing escape. The highlight of our stay was definitely the spa. The experience was absolutely heavenly, and a special mention goes to Sacha, whose massage skills are truly magical. She made us feel completely relaxed and pampered — thank you, Sacha! However, our experience at the main restaurant was disappointing and didn’t meet the standard expected of a property like this. After we were served, the staff became largely unavailable, and we were left waiting long stretches without any service. My partner ordered the fish, which unfortunately was full of bones in every bite, making the dish unenjoyable. When we raised this with the staff, the response was simply, "You should have asked for filleted fish," with no apology or acknowledgment. The menu didn’t indicate this was necessary, and for a hotel of this caliber, serving unfilleted fish without notice felt unacceptable. We’ve dined at many high-end establishments, and have never encountered this before. Breakfast the following morning was also underwhelming. Despite arriving at the stated start time of 7 AM, no staff were present to take our order. I had to go looking for someone, which again reflected poorly on the level of service. To be fair, the rest of the staff, including the bar team, were friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed the comfort of our room. But the main restaurant experience — which we were genuinely looking forward to — was a letdown and did put a damper on an otherwise lovely stay. For the premium price point, expectations are naturally higher, especially when it comes to service. While there were some wonderful highlights, we hope the restaurant service is improved for future guests.
