Shoved round the back of a restaurant, next to an industrial estate, this Travelodge has potentially seen better days, but probably not many, dirty, smelly with rubbish facilities, other than the ability to be found by escorts who seemingly can find the room they're after quite easily. It's a stop-over for work trips, but coul dbe so much better. If you're desperate then it just about covers your basic needs, if you have a choice, don't choose this.

The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and quiet and had all I needed in it. Above all, the welcome and help I got from the lady who signed me in (Sharon?) was exceptional as it had been the first time I stayed there. My reason for not giving 5 stars is down to the fact the whole place needs a face-lift, which I was told would be started soon. I would have no hesitation in staying there again.

I've been staying here for nearly 2 months for work. Excellent customer service. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Convenient for Basingstoke town and fire the M3. Quiet pub next door. Many nearby food outlets. I'll be sorry to have to move on.

The staff were very welcoming and happy to help with any questions we had the room was very clean would recommend to come to stay at this hotel it was a very quiet hotel also the breakfast at the harvester was lovely manager went out of her way lovely lady

Excellent stay 2 nights great welcome superb staff and the manager puts over 100% in and will go 100 extra miles hotel is one of the original lodges very clean and local knowledge was great and will be recommending this hotel for our fellow cruisers it's only 40 mins to Southampton has a harvester restaurant next door breakfast is a most there has well as normal menu just like give this hotel and staff a BIG THANK YOU

Great staff. Great for workers and vehicle safety. Great for dogs. Great outside space for dogs and relaxing after work.

I would like to thank Sharon and Chris for the excellent ffriendly welcome (and further chats) and help my wife and i received from them during are recent visit. The whole stay experience after a long heavy traffic was excellent with both the welcome and room very good. I was surprised to be told that this lodge was one of the oldest in the company as the standard was far better than others stayed in. Thank you.

The staff were excellent, kind, helpful and very accommodating. I had come over the night before via ferry from France to see my very ill brother. As I left the ferry I discovered that my brother had passed away overnight. On my way from the port my car broke down - I had to wait six and a half hours in 34C heat for a recovery truck. So, by the time I got to the Travelodge, I was more than exhausted! The room was decent, although it may be time for a quick refurb, but it is always the people that make a difference and that was my experience at Basingstoke Travelodge.

Reception staff were friendly, warm and welcoming! Slept ok as room was at the rear so quiet without disturbance. Room was poor, absolutely stank of damp, a potent smell, there was visable mould in bathroom, and bath looked limescaled and generally unclean, bedding felt hard and made me itchy, one plug socket in the whole room, well away from the bed which is really inconvenient, lights flickered when switched on and off Very dated and in dire need of an upgrade / refresh. 5 staff to both of the staff members i engaged with, feel sorry the environment is reflective of the staff quality.
