Overall, the experience was Ok! Frankly the value for money spent was quite low. This was such a mixed experience during our one night’s stay at this property. On check in, in a gap of around 15 mins, the lady at the reception would have used the phrase “subject to availability” around 5 times for 5 different questions. One of the questions was regarding our airport transfer on return. She responded “subject to availability”. When we mentioned but this is included in our stay terms, came a feeble voice “ok lemme check”. Must say she was quite well trained to play a kind of a pre-recorded message. When we checked for a lounge, we were informed ‘we are a resort and hence we do not have a lounge’. When we mentioned but you have such a big bar in the middle of the pool, they obliged by offering complimentary high tea instead! High tea - the servers seemed more keen to wind down the tables than to serve the guests. Am sure, their time would be of essence. As guests, at best, we would have only enjoyed the music for a while longer! Then came dinner time. Must give credit to this property for being pet friendly. All tables around the poolside were reserved for pet parents. We din have any pets but since there was a live performance by the pool side and since we were early and since all tables were empty, we requested for being seated by the poolside. After quite a bit of ado, with a pre condition that we could be asked to move to another table in another section, they gave us a table by the poolside. Must say, quite a favour! Notably, tables were empty, even as we left. During this dinner, we also learnt that North Indian food can be consumed without onions. The server did not accede even when specifically requested. Amidst this, the Duty Manager rushed pass our table. You blink and miss her was the pace. While passing by, she asked whether we were being served well. I guess the question was rhetoric since she perhaps dint have the time to pause to even listen to our response. After a filling dinner, came the invoice. We requested the same be charged to the room with an approved ten percent service charge. The server made quite a face and mentioned this would be shared by all staff members. I guess he needed the entire booty for himself. Quite an aberration of expectations. And then the grand finale on checkout. We presented Marriott vouchers on check out. They were issued by our credit card company. After so much hesitation and resistance, the vouchers were accepted and we could leave. Must say finally! Overall, a new property, neat and clean but the rooms are too close to each other. Commercial optimisation for the available seven acres! Staff wanting to serve but perhaps needing appropriate direction. No greeting or regard for the BonVoy tier status, perhaps since all guests must be treated equally. Finally, the property does NOT merit stay for any rate quoted in five digits per night!
