Hemmingodden Lodge

We stayed there in September 2023 for 3 nights. This is our favorite accomodations during our Norway trip. It is located right on the water front, so we can just walk to the fishing Pier. In our apartment, we had one window facing the parking area, one facing the neighbour/mountain view, and the best view facing the mountain is actually from the bathroom. But don't be discourage, the bathroom is quite spacious. It has its own heater so we can control the temperature. There is no bathsoap & shampoo. But I think these are personal choices, so I don't mind. Besides we always bring our own. Tea & coffee are also not provided. Again, I think these depend on each person's preference. What surpises me the most is that they provide sugar, cooking oil, salt and pepper. This is very helpful. I don't like the idea of having to buy a whole bottle of oil when I just need a several spoons. There are pots, pans, knifes, cutting board, sandwich container (very thoughtful), complete utensils and all kinds of things you need to cook. There are coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, oven, 4 hobs electric stove. We don't lack anything in this kitchen. In the living room is equipped with a comfortable sofa for lying down, a dining table, 2 chairs. The bedroom is upstairs. The loft bedroom is traditional to fishing house design. We have to use a ladder to get up. For someone with knee/back problem/stiff joint, this may be a problem. My husband has difficulty sitting up in this loft. He is 5'10". The bed itself was not bad. One of the pillow is soft and the other is firm. Two comforters. There is spacious space on the wall to put our stuff beside the bed. A sauna room is in the other building. We have to make reservation and pay 120Nok/person. The restaurant only open on weekends. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to try. There are new buildings/rooms on the other side of the property. The rooms are smaller than ours and some don't have the view. But if you just need a room to sleep, it is a better option. Since the lodge's theme is fishing, if you're interested, you can book a fishing tour. Overall, we had a great time here and will definitely come back if we have the chance.

We stayed 2 nights in one of Lottebua appartment. Wow, what a view !!! It is really a marvelous scenery and surrounding. It is a small fishing village, quite sauvage, with mountains falling in the sea. It was the end of our 2 weeks in Norway, and we had seen many nice scenery, but this is truly beautiful. From our apartment we had a terrasse facing the mountains and sea, where we could sit, and we very much enjoyed this. They have also a restaurant that we tried one night. The menu is small and simple but the food is excellent, and the staff is very nice (as in the reception by the way). So definitely recommend it. There is no breakfast served, but there is a Joker 5 minutes walking distance where you can buy coffee, bakery, and other things there or for your stay. So that was not a problem for us. Other things to be known, which could be a problem, or not, depending on your needs: - the 3 bedrooms were small with only twin beds, which were fairly small (don't think they are 90cm large). So it was a bit rough the first night, but we accomodated. - there is only1 bathroom with shower and toilet inside for the whole apartment, so if you are a family of 4-6, it can be sometimes not ideal. - it is not very well equipped. There was absolutely no drawer, cupboard, ... nothing where to put our clothes. So we kept everything in the suitcases on the floor of the living room. Not a problem for a short stay but not sure for a longer stay. There was very minimum equipement also for the kitchen, which again could be, or not, an issue. They have other types of apartments which may be equipped differently, so worth checking if these things are important to you. - our apartment was upstairs and we could hear our neighbours. It was not too noisy, so ok. But there are apartments downstairs, and don't know for them, if they hear steps upstairs,... Last thing we realised that in fact this is a paradise for the fishers. They have many boats of all sizes, that can be rented or there also organise all sorts of sea trips. We regretted not to have used them to do a day trip on a boat, and even may be try fishing. It would have been much nicer than to do the road to Reine and A which we found very touristic and disappointing. So overall we definitely recommend and would (will) go back, knowing the plus and minus and adapting the stay in consequence.

We had a 3-day business stay and the experience was fantastic. The lodge has beautiful accommodation, exceptional reception and great food. Customer service was topnotch. I think the overall experience is reasonably priced. Highly recommended

Organized a PhD course with 15 participants. The staff found good solutions to all challenges during planning, and shoved warm hospitality during the stay. The cabins/rooms was great, the conference facilities fine, and the food was excellent! And all this for a reasonable price. Higly recommended!

Meravigliosa esperienza in rorbu ! Ballastad ha ottima posizione centrale, alle Lofoten, per fare le escursioni. Appartamento molto molto bello, funzionale, arredato con estrema cura. Perfetto ! null'altro da aggiungere.
