Villa Lumbung

The location was great however, the property although beautiful was ill-maintained. The staff at the restaurant was also not cordial and friendly. Totally disappointed in the hospitality as well as cleanliness. We were there for 4 nights and on the second day a centipede was there in the bathroom which I managed to kill. The house-keeping had not cleaned it up even until the last morning!

Place was fantastic, staff were amazing, couldn’t do enough for you, always willing to help. Just a lovely friendly, relaxed vibe. Our bartender Giri was absolutely brilliant, always smiling, attentive and loved to have a chat, in fact all the staff were brilliant.

We have stayed at various hotels and resorts around Bali over the past few years. This holiday we chose Villa Lumbung instead of our normal choice of resort in Seminyak. Initially we were happy with the room provided and the facilities seemed great. We were shown a room opposite a villa undergoing repairs to the roof and the view wasn’t great. They happily changed us to another room on ground floor. Our friends who accompanied us selected an upstairs villa. We explored around the resort and found that the facilities required an upgrade - gym was quite sad, wifi only worked in pool restaurant area and the pool chairs and area were mouldy and not clean. The villa itself was spacious and everything you need, except our rooms AC was not working properly. We spent 2 very sticky nights being attacked by swarms of mosquitoes and found there to be large gaps in the doors allowing them in. The outdoor bathroom also backed onto an area that was a rubbish pile for Leaf matter and debris which was obviously housing the mosquito population. We advised of the ac not working properly and the following night was moved to another room which was a lot better. Both the villas had older sheets with some older marks on them but were comfortable. There were fresh towels supplied doily to the room but when attending the pool area often found there to be not enough. The drinks and the complimentary breakfast were lovely. Happy hour was great in the pool and the service by the staff here was great. The front reception staff including the taxi and day trip lady were lovely and so helpful. The resort is in an ok location fair walk to beach and other amenities but good base to hop in a taxi or scooter to get around. Good spa locations externally and great spa menu offered at the resort which we didn’t visit. They have dinner nights(satay night etc) at the resort but were a bit expensive and were quiet. The resort is tired and in its heyday would have been amazing but needs some love and attention now. Not sure we would come back but it was fairly priced for its facilities and quality provided.

My friend and I stayed here for 8nights and 7 days. It was my first time in Bali and the hotel is amazing. Very nice and clean rooms with amazing and responsive communication from staff. The daily breakfast was so filling and always delicious, all the facilities were on point. There is also a currency exchange at the reception for added convenience. The area is a great place to stay in with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Only con was the Wi-Fi had issues in the room the whole duration of the trip, but it worked perfectly fine in the lobby and breakfast place, this wasn’t an issue for us as we mainly used data. The reception was always super friendly at any time, we checked in and out in a very smooth manner and kept our bags in the reception as we went about our day. I would definitely come back to this hotel we greatly enjoyed our stay thank you!

The pictures of this resort does not represent the reality and it's heydays are left far behind..... my wife and I were excited to stay here for 4 nights however when we arrived the state of disrepair was astounding. Don't get me wrong, we are not spoilt and can deal with most styles of accommodation but the reality is scary. The staff are all fabulous, that is the positive, where do I start on the negatives, the pool area has weeds growing out of the cracked and broken pavers, bad repair work is bandaged everywhere around the pool, the spa was half empty and putrid, swim up bar, ordinary and happy hour drinks watered down, the men's pool toilet had a cistern come off the wall, just the outline of where it was and cut pipes left behind, had a game of pool, the pool cue felt grubby to touch and wanted to give it clean with an anti bacterial wipe. The room we had was dated with a fairly large lizard for company when we entered, this absolutely freaked my wife out, small doors to an outside bathroom, dated bathroom fittings, leaking bath shower nozzle, only mozzies for company out there. The owners of this resort (who I believe own many resorts in Indonesia) had an ideal opportunity to give a much needed spruce up during the 2 and a half year COVID lockdown. They dropped the ball, the choice of food outside is limited and hit and miss, we cut our losses and bailed after the first night, my wife lay awake that night waiting for the lizard to return, we certainly won't return.

Wij hadden dit hotel geboekt om onze laatste dagen op Bali leuk en relaxed af te sluiten. Eenmaal aangekomen in het hotel schrokken wij ons kapot! Wat een smerige kamers vooral de badkamers kregen wij. Gevraagd of er betere kamers waren maar die waren er niet. Toen hebben we besloten om de gehele boeking te annuleren en zijn weggegaan! Het personeel was wel erg vriendelijk ondanks dat we heel erg teleurgesteld waren.
