Corick House Hotel & Spa

Welcoming,warm and pleasant restaurant. We visited on a very busy night but service was very attentive. Good to see a vegetarian and vegan menu. The tofu starter was very pleasant with a lovely light texture and a very piquant pickled slaw. Pea and mint risotto was very good and I know how difficult it is to make a good risotto. I'd have liked some more vegetables in the risotto but it was very pleasant. Great pricing on the steak night for two although no-one in our group ordered this option, looking around the room it was a popular choice. Service was very attentive with all ordering done through iPads. Desserts were excellent with the strawberry and rhubarb crumble being particularly popular with our family. Some instructions on the lift would be helpful although the very pleasant receptionist came to our assistance.The restaurant manager had a very busy night and managed to cover a lot of ground.

My wife and I stayed with yourselves on Saturday 22nd. We arrived, and checked in seamlessly. When given our key card (room 219) we then made our way to the room. Whilst going down the hall ways, there was a cleaner who was vacuuming the hall, who didn't move for us walking past. Fairly rude. When we got to our room, the heat nearly put us out, however seen the fan and turned it on. There was 2 complementary bottles of water, which 1 was opened and half drank from, along with 1 glass. My wife called reception, and willingly, they arrived fairly promptly with a new bottle of water and glass. Looking around the room, there was a lot of yellow stains all over the carpets, more than 6 different hand prints on the suede headboard to which we couldn't then wait to get out of the room. We decided to go for a drink at the main bar. Dear me, it really was not like the last time we were there. The floors were sticky from drink clearly being spilt on the floor. Anyway, trying to still enjoy the evening, I ordered 2 cocktails. 21 minutes later (and standing at the bar) I received them. I had also ordered a plate of chips, so I told the bar man my table number (7) and I went and waited. We had finished our drink and the bar man was passing, so I ordered another 2 drinks. (Still no sign of my chip that was ordered)Barman took order, said he would chase the kitchen and then informed us that they ran out of pineapple juice, so would struggle to get 2 cocktails made. He then brought them back and said he just about had enough. (£9.50 each, and it felt like we just had to do with it?) We drank up and left to go back to the room. We then started to get ready for the SPA, we took our robes out form the wardrobe, to which mine had 2 holes under the arms, and my wife's was in a very used/abused condition. The expectation levels that I had of this place (which was the same price as the Galgorm!) just started to get lesser and lesser. Arrived down at the suite, and to be honest, this was one of the better experiences we had. Very relaxing, and nice reception staff. We came back up, got dressed and then went down for dinner. The food was lovely, decent atmosphere but the waiting time for drinks was, again, terrible. So much so, 1 gentleman got fed up waiting, said a few words to the barman and then left. Overall, I would give this 5/10. I spent over £600 in total, and I most definitely was not staying in a 4 star Hotel. For that reason, I will never be back and will just be using the Galgorm. I am not one for feedback, but I felt the need to express my annoyances considering the amount of money that was spent. The place is tired looking and in need of a modern revamp, along with ensuring you have the correct staffing levels and experience. Thanks -Sam

Just home today after a wonderful stay at corick house, have stayed here maybe 4/5 times, although I have never stayed in the original house, wow, rooms are stunning, Def my fav room so far. Had a 30 minute slot at the serenity suite, again have never used it before (always used thermal suite), it was amazing, so relaxing, was so nice having it to ourselves. Also had box of chocolates in room, and a lovely 'welcome back' card, so lovely. Food in restaurant was beautiful, as was breakfast. Staff here are so friendly. Can't rem lady's name, short blonde hair, wore black dress, spoke to her couple of times during r stay and she was so friendly. This has def been my favourite stay to date, can't wait to return.

Very disappointed We booked for one night recently We were looking to have the Carvery Roast as a Main Evening meal even though it finished at 4 pm but on booking we were advised that we could have it as an Evening Meal in the Restaurant . We also asked at check in at 3pm if we needed to reserve a Carvery Roast for that evening but were told that 4 different joints were available but we should have no problem ordering one in the Restaurant that evening. On entering the dining room at 6.15 pm and taken to a table, after several minutes we requested a Roast Dinner of whatever roast was left, to be told " Sorry you cannot have a Carvery Dinner as they finished at 4 pm" We explained that we were told that a Carvery Dinner was available and that the booking hotel contact told us this was available and the check in staff confirmed this on arrival . We disappointedly then ordered from the Restaurant Menu I had a supposedly 10 oz Sirloin with veg and choice of fries and sauce which consisted of a thin slice of beef a couple of veg and 12 fries £ 29.00 My partner had a Daub of beef £ 19. 50 which was a fatty smoked lump of beef , a spoonful of potato with a few bits of veg thrown in , my partner had to order extra veg to supplement her meal. The room was comfortable however the breakfast next morning was very disappointing , it is self service from a Bann Marie ,buffet style The eggs were missing both scrambled and fried , upon asking if eggs were available we were told they were being cooked, My plated items as I stood in line were cold as we were told the eggs were being cooked ! 10 mins later my partner had to get me a fried egg ! At the table there was no milk or sugar for our coffee or tea had to ask several times for these items, again took 10 mins to have these. The Thermal Spa was certainly Thermal it was Baltic which several other guests agreed! We raised these numerous issues at reception we were told we should have complained at the time. Shouldn't have to ! WILL NOT BE BACK and would not recommend to family or friends or anybody else

Absolutely fabulous spa retreat Myself and mum had beautiful treatments in the spa and outdoor hottub. Jena (hope I spelt it right) lol was brilliant host and went above and beyond to make our experience great. I would highly recommend the spa. We then had our high tea and this was absolutely delicious gold star from us Corrick House.

Called for lunch and was left bitterly disappointed. When we arrived it was busy but there were plenty of empty tables in the restaurant. We waited at the please be waited to be seated sign and despite numerous members of staff passing by not one greeted us said hello or can I help you. After 10 minutes of standing there a gentleman eventually approached us and asked how many were dining and said give me 2 minutes. Needless to say he never returned and another 5 minutes passed until I had enough and walked out disgusted. If they were too busy it is basic manners to notify potential dinners that there may be a wait for a table not just leave you standing there confused. They have a bar and could have said would you like to get a drink in the bar whilst we prepare your table but to just completely ignore customers is the height of bad manners . It is clear that nobody here values the customers and despite eating here regularly we will not be back.

Stayed here on a Saturday night in mid April. Booked a standard double room and told the lady when I booked it that it was for our wedding anniversary. When we arrived at the hotel we checked into our our room and were delighted with the room we got. It definitely seemed like a suite but the lady at check in never mentioned to us about getting upgraded so we’re still not really sure if we we’re upgraded or not but the room was fantastic. We also had a little note and a box of chocolates left in the room which we appreciated. Staff seemed friendly especially the bar staff. We had dinner in the conservatory and considering that it was a lovely evening outside it was great place to seat and have a meal while looking out at the gardens. The food was just ok though. The goats cheese for starter was kind of bland and the chips that came out with the mains were burnt which I had replaced with much better ones. Also I didn’t enjoy the dressing on the salad which came with the steak. Both desserts were lovely though. Would definitely recommend the Korean chicken strips and the chicken stack which the wife had. Hotel seemed very quiet for a Saturday night even though there was a wedding going on and live music in the bar which was great. The bar and conservatory we’re almost emptied out after the restaurant stopped serving food. The Corick house seems like a place for maybe older couples to come and relax which isn’t a bad thing either. Breakfast the next morning was ok. The Greek yogurt pots were especially nice

Really nice break from start to finish. Simple straightforward pre check in online Very clean hotel and spa area good size rooms very friendly staff Particularly Brian in the restaurant and the female who was working with him in restaurant (18/4) then in the bar. Food was great and the breakfast was hearty. Would recommend what appears to be their homemade granola.

On arrival the receptionist was unfriendly.. we waited ages for her to 'check' our room was ready ..it wasnt ..told us we got upgraded ..basically whispered this without eye contact or explanation our king toom with balcony wasnt ready ..so we were given the ' upgraded' room which was lovely but no balcony as we wanted . Our door key didnt work so a camel hump.back to reception to fix problem..again a cold unfriendly response from same receptionist. Dinner was overpriced and very small/little portions..the duck was supposed to be a trio breast leg and bon bon..we laughed at the excuse for a duck breast !! Do they cut it in small portions.? We were charged 2.80 for an inch high tiny jug of extra Jus !! Dessert was sticky toffee pudding it was dry and again overpriced. The manager Damien was so busy running around everywhere we pitied him we didnt complain as the place was packed . Overall extremely disappointing birthday treat.. breakfast was just ok..overcooked sausages and eggs. It's our second visit and will be the last !!
