Hotel Krone in Au

We booked the hotel for a family vacation. We were 3 generations, ranging from age 15 to 85 years old, and all of us had a fantastic time. First: A place falls and stands with its people. Everyone we encountered was professional, friendly and very engaging, including the owner. A special Thank you to Kataryna who served us breakfast and dinner and Norbert who is a brilliant bartender. Next: the amenities are unique. The hotel has a rooftop wellness area with 3 different sauna rooms and a eucalyptus steam bath. There were also plenty of places to rest after the sauna and have cup of tea. The entire area is on top of the hotel and provides stunning views of the mountain landscape which can be enjoyed even in the saunas. Another great feature is a natural pool, meaning no chlorine or salt needed. Two small basins adjacent basins filter the water naturally with plants. Swimming in drinking quality water was heaven. The hotel also has a wellness spa, and my husband had a massage that he enjoyed very much. The food: the hotel provides breakfast, an afternoon snack, and dinner, all of which are good. There was a huge variety at the breakfast buffet, from smoked lox, cheeses, breads, eggs, meats, and more. It was simply delicious. The afternoon snack usually was a soup or cheeses with cold cuts or tortellini and always a multiple selection of pastries. There was also a five-course meal every night for dinner consisting of salad buffet, appetizer, main course, dessert and cheese (there was always a vegetarian option too). One of the reasons the chef likes this area is that so much of the food can be sourced locally. Every meal we had contained many, if not all, ingredients which were locally sourced. The rooms: They were decent sized and ours had an amazing floor to ceiling windows with a spectacular view of the Kanisfluh mountain. This said, we didn’t spend a lot of time in our room. After hiking we would mostly take naps in the beautiful spa on the top floor. The hotel offered programs each day with a nice variety. In the 4 days we stayed there we went to an organ concert and talk about the baroque masters of the valley, a jazz concert and a singing bowl meditation in the Spa. All for free and organized by the hotel. One additional surprising aspect: We talked to five different hotel guests, and they were all repeat customers. Here is our summary: If we ever come to this area again, we will definitely stay at the Krone in Au. The friendly people, the facilities, the food and activities were an absolute selling point for our family. Thank you for a fun and memorable stay!

Pleasant hotel with special facilities. The guest comes first and they do everything they can to ensure you have a pleasant holiday.

The hotel is just amazing. The staff was very friendly, the food, huge breakfast buffet and dinner, was excellent . The Spa area is exceptional. The sky spa offers a huge relaxing area with a panorama view and even a sauna on the roof with panorama view as well. In the backyard, there is a small pond to swim, as it consists of a swimming part and a natural part with plants. Even the view from the pond, facing the mountains, was beautiful and relaxing. From the hotel there are many hiking routes and they also rent bycicles (even electric ones). Recommend to everyone, that needs a relaxing weekend or a few days in the beautiful area

Perfect family hotel ! All you need is there for everyone : wellness, swimming -pool , music ( once every week students of the music - high school are playing a concert ) ; the rooms are very clean ; the food is perfect ; the reception and the restaurant team is very friendly ...

Super Hotel mit einer netten Gastgeberfamilie und zuvorkommenden Personal. Tolle Lage des Hotels mit sauberen Zimmern und einem großen Wellnessbereich.

Wir haben eine kleine Auszeit im Hotel Krone in ruhiger Atmosphäre sehr genossen. Freundliches, aufmerksames Bedienungspersonal, abwechslungsreiches Frühstücksbuffet.

Das Hotel war Preis-Leistungsmässig herausragend! Es hat einen ruhigen Innenhof, mit Sicht auf Wald und ist perfekt zum entspannen. Die Sauna im Dachgeschoss ist sehr konfortabel eingerichtet.

Mit Freundinnen habe im September ein Wochenende im Hotel Krone verbracht. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Besonders hat mir die Massage gefallen. Die Hotelbar machte am Freitag bereits um 23.00 Uhr zu. Um 24.00 wurde auch das Licht auf der Terrasse gelöscht. Das war für mich persönlich etwas überrascht, da ich ja mit Freundinnen dort war und gerne noch etwas Zeit mit ihnen in der Hotelbar verbringen wollte. Das ist jedoch der einzige negative Punkt. Und wäre ich mit meinem Partner dort gewesen, wäre mir es auch egal gewesen ;-)
