We booked the hotel to visit a wedding. On the photos the hotel looks nice with well-equipped bathrooms, the reality is different, unfortunately. The check-in seemed a bit uncomfortable to us, since it seemed he need to search for an available room (that we booked weeks in advance). Then when arriving in the rooms, they didn't have a shower facility, which we consider a basic need. After finding out, we asked if it was possible to get another room in which we could have a shower, the hotel was unfortunately fully booked. We explained our purpose for the trip and that we would like to be able to have a normal shower, so we asked if we could cancel free of charge to book another hotel in which we could. The hotel owner then started becoming less friendly and after some argument told us that they were okay if Booking agreed to cancel free of charge. After reaching out to Booking, Booking understood our situation and confirmed that we could cancel free of charge to us and the hotel via phone and e-mail. Then hotel owner started becoming difficult and even ruder, telling different contradictory stories about the 'fact' that Booking didn't allow him to cancel free of charge (even though Booking had just confirmed via phone and e-mail). Result: We did need to pay for the room even though we left the hotel immediately after. I'm not a fan of posting negative reviews but we feel this treatment was very unfair and unreasonable, hence we'd like to share our experience with other guests.
