The Mendip Inn

I stayed in the Rabbit Hutch. The smallest room at £50 a night. Comfortable bed, welcoming staff and clean. Great rain shower too and handy breakfast bag. Found the room really noisy due to limited sound proofing between rooms and ground floor. Room was also hot, meaning I had to have the window open all night - lots of road noise and disruption from opposite house

Went for lunch with work, and the food was extremely good. I had the Pie of the Day and it was proper, with a crispy lid and good size chunks of meat. Lisa was serving us and she was friendly and heplful, with a great sense of humour. I would definitely come back again.

We had a lovely family meal at the Mendip Inn- one of our favourite places to go. The staff team are friendly and inviting, especially Lisa. The food is amazing, plenty to choose from the menu, even for those fussy eaters. We will definitely be retuning in the near future.

Excellent service today from Lisa...such an asset to the Mendip Inn. Very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for her. Food was great.l, and plenty of it. Absolutely delicious. Lovely log fire burning to cheer us up on a gloomy wet day. Many thanks

First impression from the outside don’t do it justice, beautifully decorated and really clean. Food is good and a good variety to choose from. We stayed in Puddle Duck room and it was so quirky and comfortable, bath was amazing 😊. No breakfast but they do leave a really handy breakfast bag for you each morning with lots of yummy breakfast goodies. We do have an issue with no hot water on our first night, due to heavy rain blowing the fuse in the boiler. This was soon resolved by the Manager who could have not been more accommodating. We will return. Thank you

When we visited the Mendip Inn yesterday we had such a warm welcoming. I had my dogs with us and they had such a fantastic welcoming. Not only did we have fantastic food the dogs also had there treats. The dogs also had there special place in within the pub. Our waitress named Lisa was an outstanding hostess who cared for us as well as the dogs. When I visit Somerset soon I will return to the Mendip Inn knowing I’m going to receive such great trea**ent for my dogs and have fantastic cooked food served by such lovely people hoping see Lisa the waitress again

When we booked the reviews seemed very positive so we’re looking forward to our 2 night stay. We had also booked an evening meal with friends. The stay and the meal were a big mistake. No heating, (it’s December), no hot water at all during our stay. Looking back very reviews now it seems this was an issue in September! We were in “The Stable” room. On the positive side, it was clean, but that’s where the positives end. The mattress has seen better days, slopes to one side and very uncomfortable. Room cold, no hot water. Breakfast in a bag, very poor quality ingredients. Wi-Fi doesn’t reach the room. The meal was expensive and very disappointing. Greasy, slow service, sticky tables. We were assured the heating and hot water would be fixed when we spoke to the manager but it never happened. The manager was conveniently absent on check out, just the cleaner available. I really don’t understand the many positive comments and reviews. We would not recommend this establishment for accommodation or food.

We stayed 2 nights as visiting family in the area. Room was clean, bed comfortable. A nice breakfast bag left outside the room in the morning. Radiator wasn't working and room was cold but staff supplied a space heater very promptly when reported. We had one evening meal which was very good. Service excellent. Very friendly helpful staff.

Went for a meal which was not very good, the food ordered from the menu was different from what we had and a very low standard, no ale in the place which considering they are an Inn was very disappointing, will not be recommending or returning
