Around 7:25 am on our second morning, which was a Monday morning, my wife and daughter were preparing to go scuba diving. Unfortunately, the (only) few beach towels, which we had used the day before and left out to dry (because the office is closed on Sunday, we couldn’t get clean ones) got wet from rain. Using the wooden stick and block, which is used here to get attention from the staff who live onsite, my wife knocked. The administrator (wife) yelled, “it’s 7:25 in the morning and we open at 8:30”. After my wife explained the situation and asked for clean towels, the administrator (husband) came out yelling with the towels. As my wife started to apologize to him for waking them, he continued to go off on her, yelling and yelling “knock it off, don’t you ever do this again, do you understand and on and on and on… He then tosed the two towels to my wife and went back inside. Obviously, I went and pounded on their wooden block to let the administrator (husband) know that I will not allow my wife to be treated this way. Unfortunately, his wife came out instead and was very apologetic. Up until this point, we accepted the fact that the two rooms we rented and everything in them smelled like smoke, especially the towels (During our “discussion” with the wife she informed us, the neighbors burning rubbish is the cause and there’s nothing they can do about it.) We accepted the fact the floor fan barely worked. We accepted the fact the safes didn’t work. We accepted the fact the sheets were stained, with what appeared to be dried blood. Even with these items I have mentioned, we still weren’t going to leave a bad review. But to treat your guests like this is (as I said) obviously, unacceptable. So my suggestion, if you’re considering using this facility, don’t waste your money like we have. There are many other options suitable here in Rarotonga.
