AluaSoul Zakynthos - Adults Only - All Inclusive

This review is based on my personal experience, views and the opinions of people I met whilst on holiday. When I booked the holiday back in June 2024, I didn’t realise that all the pools were not available as part of the all-inclusive package. Only upon reading reviews from Trip advisor did it become apparent that you had to upgrade to the “My Favourites Club” to benefit from the use of the infinity pools and ring-fenced bathing areas. The tour operators do NOT make this clear and it can be deceiving. Upon arriving at the hotel, the first impressions are good when you arrive, you are met with a glass of Champagne and a talk with the welcomer. At no point are the “My Favourites Club” Benefits detailed, called out or explained at any level. This leads to an amount of confusion for all holidaymakers not knowing what’s what or where you can go or can’t go, this needs to be addressed by the hotel with immediate effect. The reception looks and smells nice and gives the right impression to the people entering the hotel. My room after the upgrade was in the newer blocks adjacent to the infinity pool (Room 926) It was modern with new furniture and had a comfortable queen size bed. The room was very clean, and it met the desired level of expectation. Other rooms in the older blocks are tired and need remediation to bring them up to the same standard. The infinity pools were fine, not many people and you could acquire a sun lounger without any problem, this isn’t the same for the main pool at the top of the resort which was over-crowded and basically by 8am all the sun loungers were taken by the towel brigades. If I hadn’t of upgraded, this would have spoilt my holiday in all honesty and I really felt for the people who only had this pool as an option under the standard all inclusive package, again the hotel needs to address this. The food is okay and nothing to write home about, 1 main buffet restaurant and a snack bar that doubles up as an a la carte in the evenings. The hotel staff – Amazingly friendly and accommodating, this makes a massive difference. Top bar staff are Awesome, Alex, Tony and Manio…attentive friendly and amusing. Drinks – In general okay but not even as a “My Favourites Club” guest, can you have any premium spirits, this needs to change to provide value for money. Hotel – Clean and modern Hotel Room – Based on Room 926 – A very good standard – clean and modern with a great pool side and sea view. Food – Average – Breakfast being awful Queuing for tea and coffee machines is an absolute joke, needs more staff so a proper service can be provided. Hotel Management – Pompous and will only see people by appointment, and not visible. Lead by example. Clarity of tiered packages – Non-existent and leads to confusion and frustrated guests upon arrival, this needs to be corrected at source of complexly removing. My Favourites Club Package – Not really value for money and overpriced, doesn’t provide and additional benefits (except for the pools)

We have just returned from an 11 night holiday. We genuinely had the most amazing time! Despite one issue. Our air-conditioning was not working for the first 5 days and we had to sleep with the doors open. Which led to some unwanted 'guests'! When it was fixed. We were kindly upgraded to MFC, but stayed in the same room. Which was smaller than expected. But had everything we required. It was cleaned everyday without fail and had very comfortable beds. The whole hotel was very clean. The food was good. The staff were all incredible; so friendly and happy. I would say the bathrooms are a little tired and shower screens etc need replacing. But other than that, all was good. We also hired a car and travelled all around the whole island. Plus, we took a ferry over to Kefalonia, which is a stunning, unspoilt island, too. We went on around 3 boat trips. Which are a must when in Zakynthos. Thank you to ALL the staff at the Aluasoul. The hotel was a peaceful haven. Just what we needed.

Hotel was lovely , Definitely not a 4* Easy book in at reception , no bottle of free wine in the room , not that I’m that disappointed as the wine was like drinking your own p*** lol. Staff were all lovely , Nikos, Tony , Alexander from the bars and the girls Maria and Dem from the Spa were amazing . Food was mediocre, way too many flies and wasps landing on the food all day and all night . We had a gorgeous sea view room as part of our package , my favourite club . This would have been an extra €50 per day per person which was totally overpriced as the only extra you had was a different colour towel and the use of the infinity pool . You lost the use of your legs once you dipped them in it was like an ice bath . No beach , you had to get in from a very tired falling apart jetty. Zante is a beautiful place but not a lot to do in tragaki .

Me and my husband were so excited about this vacations . The first thing we loved about the hotel was 100% the staff . In our check in we met two lovely lady’s Anastasia and Maria that even helped us with our suitcases all the way down to our room . And there is the first complain you can’t put two little girls helping the guests with all that weight. On our second night we had an issue with air conditioning we did not know how to turn it off but Xaris from the reception really helped us by calling the maintenance and they were fast and very helpful . The bars were clean and very good quality for all inclusive and we also met the most happy person in there Mania . The food very tasty and big variety as well . Thank you to the staff and we will definitely be back !!

Hotel rated 4* but it is more 3 . The hotel is tired , drinks are watered down and food was ,at best lukewarm warm and a poor selection . Sun-beds were reserved by 8am and this was not policed . You can pay to upgrade to the nicer quieter pool but it’s €50 per day and you really only get a sun bed for that ( we were given a bottle of Cava which was at least not watered down ) Water is not provided in the room . You have to ask for it . On one occasion our room wasn’t made up . On a positive staff all really friendly . In particular Tony behind the bar . Made a mean mojito but had to pay for it ( £250 bar bill for AI holiday !!)

Not sure the accommodation can be 4*. Stayed for 10 nights. - Our room was twin beds instead of a double, but the hotel was fully booked. Our room was along a service road at the side of the hotel, not ideal for early morning delivery slamming of doors etc. That is when you aren't woken up by the fire alarm going off. This happened early morning twice during our stay. Our bathroom was a wet room with a huge crack in the sink & the shower riser being held up by what looked like a plaster. The drainage smelt fairly bad. Maybe because of the septic tanks outside. - The food got to be monotonous after day 6. Breakfast was the same every day. It would have been nice to have some berries to go with the greek yoghurt. Lunch and dinner were ok but on a 7 day loop. The restaurant visit was the best food we ate all week at the resort. - The development itself needs some TLC. There was a dripping pipe outside for the entire stay, fire hose door being kept shut with a beer mat. Things that need repairing being left. - The pool was literally covered in towels before sunrise..... but a very nice pool with loungers in the shallow. - The staff we found to be the saving grace for the stay. All polite and helpful, shout out to Tony at the bar. - Entertainment every night, but on a loop. The best were Band Fiction.
