Maria's Garden Apartments

When we arrived just less than 30 mins from airport, my husband said what have you done! Faded green pvc windows & doors unpainted low wall vista , no air con (because the owner had gone to bed) our flight had been delayed, which is usual apparently for Kefalonia according to everyone we spoke to. Who all had been at lest a few times to the island. But after a really bad nights sleep we woke to a newly furnished kitchen/bathroom everything you need .beautiful tea on our terrace with an amazing view (we bought teabags & thanks to the fabulous George the night before gave us milk ) we paid for our air con & tax which €115 for 12 nights. That was the bad here’s the good.!!! Everything else.!!! Food,(cooked by George’s sister)really amazing we had literally everything on the menu though out the weeks from breakfast to tea , frozen margaritas, all cocktails, Sunsets , service.,the pool,(beautifully looked after by George’s father ) the bar mostly served by Denise Georges wife & her mate fafina??? Probably got that so wrong Sorry 😢 the short distance to beaches , Taverna & bars. We don’t normally do a 3 star but trip advisor lead us here & thank you for that Best holiday ever This 3 star should be a 4 but who cares not I !! We”ll be back with the fam 😜

Had a wonderful week at this hotel. We had an amazing front view over the beaches and the room whilst small was typically Greek and adequate for what we needed. We were delayed when arrived but the lovely bar staff made us some chips at 11.30pm at night despite being close to finishing their shift and we were very grateful for this simple snack after a long day travelling and delays. The air con not having the control to adjust the temperature yourself was something I’ve never experienced before and was a bit of an annoyance as in the middle of the night it could get quite cold but you’d need it at the colder temp during the evening. I am aware at reception you could ask someone to change the temp but by the time we would have changed it we would then need to make it cooler again another time. Just a feedback that was one of the only sort of irking things about the stay really. Yes there’s the hill the walk down was fine in the morning the way up we just got a taxi for €7 a time but could have walked it was just being lazy and the view was so worth it There wasn’t a late checkout ability but there was good shower rooms to use with all toiletries provided so this wasn’t so bad A lovely stay on a good central area to the night street for restaurants and beaches. Would highly recommend and glad we visited.

Great food, relaxing atmosphere and with Fotini, Denise, George and Anna looking after you all it's a fantastic place to be. It feels like visiting family. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in kefalonia. The sunset is a wonder to behold.

We are a family of four, two boys, 18 & 15. Olive Garden is the perfect location as a base to explore Lassi and Argostoli if you wish to stay local. Hire a car and the rest of the Island and Ithaca are within easy reach. The accommodation was excellent, clean and well maintained. We had a two bedroom apartment, two up, two down arrangement which gave us two balconies overlooking the sea for amazing Sunsets. The Pool area and bar are excellent. If you wish to stay by the poolside, all meals, Breakfast through to Evening meal are well presented, well portioned and very reasonably priced compared to other places. Due to its elevated position it’s understandable that visitors find it quite hard going back up the hill in the heat after a hard days work at the beach. It’s certainly easier after a couple of Mythos and meal at one of the local Tavernas. Fresh express supermarket do a free delivery for your first big shop however would recommend going to Argostoli and paying €8 for a Taxi back. Please do walk over the hill into Argostoli, you won’t be disappointed. Huge shout out to George and his team behind the bar, if anything, those guys made our stay most memorable, particularly for our boys. Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri 😍

We stayed at the Nikos apartments across the road for the last 4 nights and visited here every day for either drinks,lunch or dinner. The food was amazing with incredible views to enjoy whilst we ate! We saw a beautiful sunset one evening. The staff were excellent too, so friendly and welcoming . Thank you.

This was our second visit to Olive Gardens, we loved it so much last year we booked a return visit for this year while still at the resort. Last year we stayed in a 1 bed apartment room number 22, which was lovely and the views were sensational but was maybe a little small for the 3 of us, this year we stayed in room number 7 which was a split level 2 bed duplex and this was amazing (well worth the upgrade). We were slightly worried as it was directly behind the pool bar but we did not need to worry at all it was so quiet day and night. A special mention has to be to George and Denise who make this resort in my opinion, they literally made us feel like family from day one, nothing was too much trouble and they are the nicest people you could meet! The rooms are spotlessly clean, the location and views are stunning and the swimming pool is lovely. There was a mention about the chemicals in the pool, my 10 year old has very bad eczema and we showered him before and after swimming as the signs state and we had no problems at all in the 10 days we were there. This resort is a gem, it never gets busy and there are always loungers available any time of day. Thank you again George, Denise, Bill and The Olive Garden team we will be back again some day soon to your beautiful apartments, Thank you for having us all.

We have just returned from a 14 day stay at the Olive Garden. The place is fantastic, it is close to beaches in Lassi and just over a mile from the main town of Argostoli. The apartments were very clean and cleaned pretty much every day of our stay. Denise and George who run the poolside bar are fantastic and cannot do enough for you or your kids. The food is great too. It is definitely a place I will return to. The only slight negative for me was you have to pay 8 euros per day for air conditioning which is reasonable but if you have two units in your apartment which we have they charge you per unit, which I thought was a bit harsh. Other than that our stay was fantastic and we will definitely return.

The pool is cleaned with large amounts of strong chemicals. It made our eyes sting severely. My child son got sore rashes in his crotch area, as did many other little boys that I spoke to the parents of. No one had ever had a problem in other pools before. This was extremely disappointing for him and meant that he couldn't go in the pool without being in pain. It's really ironic as young boys are most eager to use the pool. Therefore, it ruined this place for us, we weren't here during the day most of the time, as we went to beaches and other apartments' pools. It also affected our holiday overall as my son felt uncomfortable with stinging at many points. Owner claimed the pool was fine using samples! ...no other pool has ever been this bad.

My second visit to these wonderful apartments and certainly won't be my last. Thank you so much to George and Denise for making us feel so welcome. Already looking to rebook for next year. The views are stunning and the food, cocktails are wonderful. Can't wait to return. Thank you again a a wonderful week.
