Argostoli Essence Suites

I’m not going to repeat everything which gkace said in the inaugural review for this wonderful hotel, and I agree with all of it, wholeheartedly. The only shame is we got to only stay 2 nights; this is one of my favourite ever hotels; more expensive than we usually stay in but well worthwhile. The bathroom is the most impressive I’ve seen in a hotel, with a cavernous bath, which is rare indeed. Several warnings; as per gkace comments about breakfast - we have big appetites, but if you choose two options from the 4 they suggest , you will get a very large breakfast, choose three and you get a very very large breakfast; choose four, and you’re in man vs food territory! It’s all delicious, but I hate to send back food cause I’ve ordered too much. The other point is about the pool / area; it’s lovely but it’s small; perfect for cooling down after a hot busy day, but not a place you’re going to sunbathe in for hours, if at all. Overall though really loved it !

We were on holiday in Kefalonia and we wanted to move to a location in the southern end of the island around Argostlio. We by fluke came across this property and it literally has just opened a week ago. It’s a small boutique hotel that only has 8 rooms in total. The rooms are beautifully appointed in a contemporary manor. Luxury bedding and linen, high end bathroom fixtures and fittings, Molten Brown bathroom products, a full stocked (free of charge) bar fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, small pool with luxury towels. Breakfast is complementary and what a breakfast it is! You get a menu the day before and you get to pick four selections from the menu (we couldn’t even finish one selection) and you nominate a time to be served…. Tasty made to order breakfast served around the pool area. The staff bent over backwards for every request from a different pillow to a scale to weigh our bags. Location: You can’t ask for a better location minutes walk from the central square and the water front which are full of shops and restaurants. I stay in many 5 star hotels and I genuinely rate this 5 stars. You won’t be disappointed! This is the hotels first review on Trip Advisor and you can tell from my other reviews that I am genuine reviewer. In fact I have created the hotel in TA.
