Vibra Caleta Playa Apartamentos

Tired place. The management company has bought 3 hotels & encorporated them into one larger complex. However, they have chosen not to carry out any upgrades or renovations, which are desperately needed! This is at best a 2* Hotel currently, but could be so much more! Jet2 Photos are very misleading - be warned. They show newly painted areas, rooms & decked areas around the larger pool (now covered with horendous fake grass which is boiling!). The rooms are dated, very dated! There are staff & equipments white sheds dotted about, which need removing & central areas between what used to be the old separate hotels are needing renovating. Food is average, but queues at breakfast were unacceptable...we did tell managers! The area is very quiet - mostly hotels & residential, no cafes, bars, etc & lacking spuermarket choices. Buses were superb & a visit to Ciutadella is a must. The coves & bays are beautiful. Staff do their best at the hotel & are very frinedly, but Reception staff could do much better. We asked to move room as we were really disappointed with what we were offered, compared to advertised photos(!)...and we were promised a call back by Iris - it never happened. Weather was superb & hot, hot! A week was enough here, we had a good time as a family, but we would not return here unfortunatley.

We stayed here for a week as a family of 3 with our toddler, the surrounding area is beautiful but the hotel, not so much. We arrived and our room was still dirty, despite having to wait even longer to check in as the room was “still being cleaned”. The bathroom was full of hairs and still had old soap on the wall. Food reminance was in the cupboards and drawers in the kitchen. And the cot provided was filthy and broken - which to be fair was changed once addressed. However, still had stains all over the netting. We also didn’t see the pool get cleaned once during our stay - tiles were broken and there was grit on the floor of the pool. Not ideal for anyone, but especially broken sharp tiles in a children’s pool. We were in two minds booking this due to the mixed reviews, but now wished we had listened to our guts. Not the level of cleanliness we expected for over £1200 for the week.

Setting is great, we were in the last block of apartments, furthest from the main hotel and restaurant but with a pool right outside and the beach (a beautiful cove with a very handy bar) was a minutes walk. Apartments could go with done care but were clean. Grouting needed renewing, paint work touching up, just a bit of work on them would make a lot of difference. The pool could also have done with work, tiles needed renewing in places, some sunbeds a bit tatty. The location is great, pretty quiet for teenagers but we managed to find some great places to eat and walked into Ciutadella which is a lovely town

Visited for 4 nights as a couple. Apartments have seen better days but everything was clean and worked as it should so if anything it exceeded expectations for what we paid. We are lucky to travel frequently and mix it up with accommodation types and standards including our own place in the sun. We have other trips lined up for later in the summer and just wanted an inexpensive and easy last minute break in the Menorca sun. Our one bedroom apartment was 10m from a nice pool area and 25m from a lovely beach (we were lucky with our room location) and we split our time during the day between them. We went into Ciutadella each evening which was stunning and biggest factor in choosing where to stay on the island. Reception arranged our taxis which were €5-6 each way and arrived within 10 mins. Staff that we spoke with were all really nice and helpful. I would suggest anyone visiting that complains has got unrealistic expectations given the price or been really unlucky.

Staff are nice, rooms are good and allow you to cater for urself, areas quiet with lots of beaches and the scenery is lovely would definitely come again

Booked through tui as a package deal. We arrived at 10am and was told that check in isn’t till 2pm which was fine, went back at 2pm and was told that it still wasn’t ready and that they would call when it was. 4.30pm with a crying child and still no call so went back to reception waited and finally got a key. I don’t know why we waited so long as the apartment stank of mildew and had not been touched for ages and the resort was pretty empty. The cupboard door was hanging off in the kitchen, the tv, toaster and kettle were all not working. The shower head spat the low pressure water sideways making the floor soaked which I slipped on. The blankets were blood stained and smelled awful so we didn’t use them. I did inform the reception and they sent new appliances and sent a cleaner. The key card kept resetting itself so had to go back to reception numerous times. All of this was made a very stressful holiday as I was travelling with an autistic child. One of the lifeguards was a bully, telling our children that they can’t swim in the deep end even though they are competent swimmers and they were with us. She called my 6 year old stupid in Spanish thinking that I would not understand her and she snatched his inflatable ring off him saying it belonged to another child when it was his. The other child’s family also confirmed that the toy wasn’t theirs. Not really a lifeguards job to get involved in toddler squabbles! She was standing with her whistle ready to start beef with people. The water slide was taped off and not in use for the whole stay which was the reason why we chose that place. The beach and location were beautiful, it’s such a shame that this resort is so poorly managed.
