Prinsotel la Caleta Hotel

We chose this property for a short break due to its close proximity to Cuitadella and the fact we could book a suite and have 2 separate rooms for sleeping (2 ladies in their 60s) and we were not disappointed. Although very suitable for families with (small) children we found it perfect for our needs and loved watching all the tiny ones playing in the pool. Note this is not a place for teenagers. We found all the staff extremely helpful and friendly even being greeted by the gardeners and maintenance staff . The grounds are beautifully kept and everywhere seems very clean. Staying in the suites you get clean pool towels every day, just hand them to lifeguard at the end of the day and pick up fresh ones. Also free tea, coffee cold water and juice as well as a few nibbles in the suites reception. Plus 2 small bottles of water left each day in our room which was most appreciated as we didnt have to keep running off to buy water, although the small supermarket opposite the hotel is excellent. As others have said the breakfast buffet is very good with decent cereals, fruit yoghurt plus everything else you could want. Evening buffet was hit and miss it seems they were trying to add too many choices when fewer but better dishes may have been better. Anyway we always found something and didnt go hungry. Although we were not terribly impressed with the drinks waiters hounding for their money when we had a mouthful of food like we were going to run off without paying! Found this extremely rude. Regarding the room: Very attractive minimalist design as per the pictures however there are several practicalities which need addressing, firstly the awful shower design which ends up flooding the bathroom (and at one point nearly our bedroom) as drain cannot cope with the very shallow tray. Personally we missed having a bath and its the first spanish hotel I have ever stayed in without a bidet! There was nowhere in there to hang or put anything (apart from 2 robe hooks)and we put one of our dining chairs in there to sit on to dry our feet. No hand towel rail is really bizarre. So, for us the bathroom was the biggest disappointment followed by the ridiculous digital light switches aargh whats wrong with normal switches! And wardrobe lights are a neat idea but so bright they literally blinded me every time I opened the door and as there are no draws in the bedroom everything had to be stored on the wardrobe shelves. The aircon was super efficient though and turned off if the patio doors were open the slightest crack. So beware people who think it’s broken it’s probable you have your doors open slightly. Two ridiculously large TV's which we never used but no dressing table in the bedroom to sit and do hair etc . Kettle and coffee machine in a tiny cubby hole which we found dangerous and awkward. You need to get you own milk as they left coffee pods and sugar etc but no milks. The sofa bed in the lounge was large and pretty comfortable. Housekeeping came every even

Such a lovely place with a very well managed team but it was disappointing that there were not enough of the team available to order drinks in the buffet restaurant or to ensure a good service in Picco.

Nice relaxing hotel in a lovely residential area with beaches close by. Pool area really chilled (most of the time) , staff are friendly and helpful. Only went self catering so can’t comment on food but the salt n co do snacks which are good and value for money.

The place and staff made the stay simple and enjoyable. Everyone very accomodating. My family and I are vegan and vegetarian and the kitchen made us alternative meals at the buffet. The kiddy pools, kids park and the evening entertainment was great!

Nice rooms. Clean. Big and comfortable bed. Usually I have neck pain without my anatomic pillow. I slep perfectly with no pains. Perfect location. Close to Ciutadella and nice and quite small but comfy beaches. Taxi cabs work very well to travel to and from Maó Aeroport. Always best to stay close to Ciutadella.

I feel there are some points about this hotel that must be shared; we just returned from a 10 day trip. The grounds are very nice, we liked the area and the staff are faultless, but the following just totally reduced our enjoyment there and we would definatley not return for these reasons: 1. We booked a 2 bed appartment. BE WARNED their version of a 2 bed appartment is 2 rooms only. They put the second bed in the living room/ living space so you have in total only 2 rooms not 2 bedrooms and a living room as any normal family would expect. Other guests commented on this and its just not ok to market a bed in the living room as a 2 bed appartment. I asked them if other people commented in this and they said yes their is sometimes 'confusion' ie, mega dissapointment. 2. The beds are rock hard. I asked for a matress topper which they were happy to give me. I got the impression this wasnt an uncommon request. 3. Their is absolutly no bar service around either pool. It simply doesnt exist so if you want, for example lunch on your sun lounger with your family this wouldnt be the place for you. Other points Air con terrible. Hot food at breakfast was sometimes hot but then, often like many other people have said, luke warm at best. Put us off eating a hot breakfast as it was so hit and miss. It was very strange to be honest. No hooks in the room to hang anything. So as a family you're stuck with wet towels laying everywhere to dry. Not even a bar on the sink for hand towles. Small point but a nuisance. Kids club: The room this is in is ok. Staff are useless. We went about 6 times every time they were simply cutting up paper or on their laptop, honestly. Im not sure why people rate it. There had been some balls to play with and the next day they were gone; they told me they were too much bother to tidy up. Toys that need batterys dont even have working batteries, only the children that attend the kids club, make it a good atmostphere. The staff really do need to get involved more they literally did nothing every time we were there. Not engaging at all. Our pool didnt open till 11. This is pretty late to wait to get a towel. And even then often no towels. They have bikes but no bike route maps?! I just dont know why people rate this place so highly at all. The staff are the best asset at this hotel its a shame their are some real gaping issues.

From start to finish our stay was fantastic, the staff were amazing. The hotel was spotless nothing out of place or dirty anywhere. Food was amazing. It was brilliant

Spa and beauty treatments are advertised on the Jet 2 website stating that they are available at the Prinsotel La Caleta website. They are not, read on! On Friday 31st of May my friend and I arrived at reception at 11:00 am for our DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE, priced at 85 Euros. The key card didn’t work and the masseuse, Naria, (not sure if that is her name) had to go back to Reception twice, eventually gaining access through the patio doors. We were brought to a hotel bedroom, not a Spa. The room was not laid out as we would have expected, it was indeed a bedroom. The twin beds had been pushed up against the bathroom wall to make room for the massage table. A sage stick or something similar had been used to try and disguise the smell of damp from the room, it didn’t work. There was an oil burner and it released a lavender fragrance, another attempt to make us feel as if we were having a Spa experience. At no time were we offered to complete a health check form. My friend rated her experience as a 2/10...... the grass was being cut directly outside the room, disrupting what should have been a very relaxing experience. The background music couldn’t be heard above the noise of the lawn mowers. She felt she hadn’t received a Deep Tissue Massage and overall wasn’t impressed. My experience was different from hers, the gardeners had moved on and the mowers could be heard in the background but I was able to relax and enjoy my massage. I was still aware of the damp smell in the background though the burner with the essential fragrance oils were doing a good job of masking the damp. I had commented on a ****** in my neck and Naria worked on that area with a satisfactory result. The experience was really let down by the fact that we weren’t in a Spa, no ambiance, a background smell and noisy activity outside. Though we paid the 85 EURO (we mistakenly misread the menu of treatments offered by ALMA SPA thinking the massage on offer was 65 EURO) the cost of this experience was not worth the the 65 we thought it was or anywhere near it. Naria was totally professional and our experience is not a reflection on herself. We should have complained and made a fuss at the time and although we were embarrassed, we should have turned on our heels and made our excuses to leave.

Stayed at Prinsotel La Caleta for a week. The hotel facilities were all great and the area is kept spotless. The staff were all super helpful with anything we needed. We stayed self catering but went to the breakfast/dinner buffets a couple of times and thought both were really good. Our 3 year old had great fun at the mini discos and the entertainment at night was always good. Miss it already and hope we can come back again!
