Smoky Cape Retreat

My partner and l were welcomed by Ken on our arrival. He showed us the swimming pool, tennis court, and large BBQ area surrounded by the most stunning garden with flowers, ferns, and trees . Every window and entrance framed beautiful views on our stay . Being in this piece of paradise, l was feeling relaxed and comfortable. Our bedroom was huge , like the bathroom and spa bath which outlooked to a private garden , a feeling of tranquillity and peace in this luxurious place. It was an amazing experience . I recommend this accommodation to other guests and we can't wait to return. Thanks again, Ken and Mary, for allowing our puppy stay. He loved it too.

I have stayed on and off at Smokey cape retreat since had to seek refuge there with my little girl from an abusive relationship, since then we have been treated like part of their family and stayed regularly and were even welcomed for Christmas lunch with Mary and Ken- my daughter has been treated like one of their own and has adored her time there watching movies with Mary and swimming I didn’t just find my quiet and beautiful place to escape from the stresses of life, I found a second family ❤️❤️❤️

We have just returned from a two night stay. Wow! What can I say! The service that the owners Ken and Mary provided was exceptional. The guest room was ammaculate - the facilites were excellent including a spotless spa bath, beautiful linen, very comfortbale Queen bed and modern technology appliances. The propety was well kept with a beautiful pool area and stunning native gardens. It has a large outdoor gazebo with bbq facilites and an outdoor kitchen. The property is pet friendly, our dog was warmly welcomed by Ken and Mary. We highly reccomend this place and will definately be coming back! Thank you for having us!

Mary and Ken are such welcoming people. I had my family stay in 2 of the rooms and they were fantastic. The spa, shower, room was just fabulous!!!! We felt so welcomed. The pool, BBQ area and tennis court was amazing we all loved it! It was that good we booked another night. Thanks for have us, we will for sure be back!!

I was a little hesitant at first. Living in the bush I thought It would be same same. If you are looking for a little bit of both worlds I recommend staying at Smoky Cape Retreat. Set in a semi rural area and surrounded by coastal bush it truly is a lovely setting. The retreat is easy to find and a short drive will put you on some beautiful beaches and walks giving you the coastal experience. The accommodation provided clean well appointed private air conditioned room with easy access to the pool and outdoor kitchen area. Mary and Ken are down to earth and a please to deal with both over the phone and in person. Noting is a problem and they are very accommodating.

We can’t speak highly enough about the Smokey Cape Retreat. We booked it after lots of searching online as somewhere special to end a fortnight driving round west and northern NSW. They were said to be pet friendly and we were not disappointed. Owners Mary and Ken were the epitome of great hosts – welcoming, giving but unobtrusive. Once they had met Harry and settled the three of us into our garden suite, we were free to enjoy the delights of the tropical garden and our generous, well-appointed rooms to our heart’s content. The only downside was it was all so seductive we were severely tempted not to venture out to sample the other sights of Arakoon, Trial Bay and South West Rocks, all of which are just minutes away by car. Okay, we did succumb to its charms on our second evening and bought in a delicious pizza from the Paragon in South West Rocks, which we ate with a glass of wine at a little table on the suite’s private patio, watching night fall through the treetops and listening to the birds singing goodnight. An absolutely beautiful experience.
