IXORA VILLA is A FANTASTIC PLACE TO STAY at Seychelles if: · You are TRAVELLING WITH KIDS. We like Seychelles a lot and during our visits stayed at 16 various accommodations (both villas and apartments). No doubts Ixora is the best one! It’s a spacious villa with 2 bedrooms, 2 in-suit bathrooms and 2 huge terraces; not a tiny bungalow, where it is so hot like in a sauna. Ixora is located next to the forested mountains with lots of birds and surrounded by the beautiful and well-maintained garden. The territory in Ixora just amazing, looks like a botanic garden – big lawn, many flowers, palms, big fruit trees, bushes. From the terrace you have an astonishing sea view. Just imagine it: you are sitting in a comfortable deck chair, watching the sunset, birds are signing, flowers are blossoming, while your kids are playing in a garden – it’s a real paradise! Due to the location, it is not hot inside, the temperature is very comfortable – we even didn’t switch on air conditioning or ceiling fans. As I said, the location of the villa is ideal. For sure you need to have a car, but I can’t imagine how it’s possible to travel to Seychelles and not to rent a car. The car is essential for exploring the island. If you are not interested in seeing many new places, swim at various beautiful beaches (most of them are cited as best ones in the world), or do not like to hike in the mountains or walk in the forests - there is no need to come to Seychelles. The better option is to go to Maldives or Turkey and spend all the time in the hotel, drinking Mojito. 😉 The best beaches are very close to Ixora villa. Anse Royale beach, which is for sure the best one to swim with children, is only 5 minutes’ drive. The other beautiful beaches (Anse Petit at Four Seasons Hotel and Anse Soleil) are just 12 minutes’ drive. As to the Beau Vallon beach, which is the most popular one among many tourists, it takes up to 45 minutes by car, but we didn’t like Beau Vallon (crowds of people and sometimes high waves, so it is not always comfortable to swim with small kids). You may trust our judgment (as in total we spent at Mahe 5 months) is that Anse Royale is the best beach for swimming with kids, especially with small ones. The ocean is almost flat, no corals, lots of shadows from palms. Unlike Beau Vallon, Anse Royale beach is very clean (every morning the beachboy grabs the leaves and garbage). At Ixora there are also 2 very clean and well-maintained volleyers with turtles (big and small ones). What a lot of fun for kids! I know that many tourists have to pay money to visit the Botanic Garden at Victoria in order to bring their children to watch the turtles. At Ixora your kids can do it every day for free! I would say that the fruit and vegetable market at Anse Royale (only 4 minutes drive from the villa) is much better and cheaper than the central one in Victoria.
