The John Russell Fox Wetherspoon

We stayed here as part of our journey to Bridport. Parking is public carpark at rear of pub & if you arrive after 4pm & pop a couple of quid in the machine, it will last for a couple of hours the next day allowing for breakfast. The room is well sized, bathroom clean & tidy & the shower amazing. The only natural light for the room is thru the roof Velux with built in electric blind, this window didn’t open, so there’s air con. The room is a tad too warm without air con, but the air con is a little too loud to allow proper & rested sleep - bit of a catch 22. The menu is a typical Spoons with the app being best way to get food & drink, but at least the kitchen is on view to the diners, so you can see food being prepared. This Spoons had a local cider on offer at a reasonable price as part of the meal deal. The pub is in a pedestrian precinct, so is safe to walk about & visit other watering holes & see what Andover has to offer.

Myself and my parents decided stay there for 3 nights is brilliant hotel ever. The staff was helpful and friendly with great services ever. The room was spot on and tidy with good services. The room was so peaceful and relaxing on weekday. Car park is not bad from hotel is 3 minutes walk.

A very well appointed room with an excellent shower. The staff were very helpfull and welcoming. The John Russell Fox is in the heart of Andover so close to all amenities with a large car park to the rear with reasonable charges Overall a wonderfull stay.

Nice family ore Christmas get together for 2 nights stay. Saturday and Sunday night. Rooms were very nice. Quiet and clean staff friendly. Breakfasts were good can recommend the breakfast muffins. Had meal on the Sunday night all 6 dinners came together piping hot no waiting and very tasty. We choose variety of burgers scampi and chicken dishes. You can't beat wetherspoons for their prices both food and drinks.... beer wines gins. Altogether a very nice relaxing 2 night stay. We had rooms at the back so no views really but we weren't that bothered . The power showers were excellent too and beds very comfortable.

This is a mixed review. The bar/restaurant is faultless and the staff were amazing. The hotel experience left me very disappointed. The room and hotel was spotless and fresh. However the toilet was constantly overflowing for the whole weekend and after the first complaint and being fixed, but it wasn't. I had a second nights broken sleepless night. The whole idea of weekend escapes is relaxation. Not this one.

Don't bother ever going absolutely terrible tables not clean also wait time at bar terrible staff to do amend anti social behaviour ie searing agreessive behaviour kids walking on tables ..other people using fowl language and staff doing nothing is unacceptable
