Le Clos de la Garde

Leaving Le Clos de la Garde was very very hard to do. Absolutely everything about the place is fantastic. Location in Anche is perfect for easy visits to all the best vineyards and chateaux with Chinon, a beautiful town, in very close proximity. The accommodation is so pretty, so cosy and so comfortable with a very relaxed and easy atmosphere. We enjoyed very much the communal breakfast and dinner on the evenings that the proprietor, Manfred, prepared dinner. There is a very pleasant upstairs indoor eating area for cooler mornings and evenings and a beautiful terrace area with umbrella for warmer times. Manfred prepares the most delicious evening meals some evenings at very reasonable cost. It is a three course meal with wine and aperitifs beforehand. Aperitifs are served in Manfred's cave: a truly special experience. I won't say too much as it will spoil the surprise. Manfred is an amazing host: nothing is too much trouble and everything is done at a relaxed and extremely pleasant rate. Le Clos de la Garde is, in our view, absolutely perfect and we will be returning. I must give a final mention to Charlie, Manfred's poodledor: she is so so so lovely. We had our two dogs with us and everything around accommodating them and their needs was available plus Charlie and they got on famously well. If you are going to the Loire area do not miss visiting Le Clos de la Garde. Thank you Manfred.

Manfred and Charlie are exceptional hosts. Our room was warm and comfortable. There are delightful surprises at this historic B&B. Make sure you visit the cave and enjoy Manfred’s aperitifs . His home made preserves at breakfast deserve 5 stars by themselves.

Wir sind immer wieder gerne im Clos de la Garde, nun bereits zum sechsten Mal. Die charmanten Zimmer, der große Garten und der liebenswürdige und aufmerksame Gastgeber sind einfach eine perfekte Konstellation. Auch die Kochkünste von Manfred sind gleichbleibend ausgezeichnet und er kreiert immer wieder leckere Aperitifs und Marmeladen. Auch für unseren Hund Bonnie ist dies ein Wohlfühlort.

Perfekte Unterkunft für einen Urlaub mit Hund. Sehr netter Gastgeber, saubere Zimmer und gutes Essen. Das B&B hat eine gute Lage für Ausflüge an die Loire und in die weitere Umgebung. Es liegt ruhig und trotzdem zentral. Für Hunde ist das komplett eingezäunte Terrin mit "Haushundanschluss" ein Paradies. Empfehlenswert!

Sehr geräumige Zimmer mit einer wunderbaren geschmackvollen Einrichtung. Der Garten bietet reichlich Platz und geschützte Ecken. Der hilfsbereite Gastgeber kocht ein leckeres Essen und hilft mit Tipps, den Aufenthalt interessant und angenehm zu gestalten.

Tolles Unterkunft, absolut sauber , in einer traumhaften Gegend. Manfred ist ein sehr guter Gastgeber, wir würden jederzeit gerne wieder hinfahren! Absolut empfehlenswert!!!! Die Zimmer sind ziemlich groß, wo man sich sofort wohlfühlen kann! Vor allem die Kombination Holz und Naturstein fanden wir sehr eindrucksvoll, sowie das gemeinsame Essen am Abend!
