Oh my, I loved staying at BUNK Hotel Amsterdam. I was first attracted by the good reviews of this young hostel/hotel hybrid, booked it far enough in advance for an early bird discount, and just a couple of days into my seven day stay, I realized I'd truly gotten a great deal. BUNK Amsterdam is fantastic! Ugh, where to start? I rented a pod, which is in a large room containing about 50 pods. Pods are preferable to bunk beds or other kinds of barrack-style hostels. There is privacy, there is enough space for you to get comfortable, change your clothes, the mattress is fine, the blanket and pillow are very cushy and cozy, the curtain is thick and heavy. The lighting situation inside the pod is unique, one of those switches with a lot of color and tone options, so you can really light the pod to your mood. I slept very well considering I was in a room with 30-50 other people at any given time. You also get a private locker beneath your pod that can fit a suitcase and a backpack with relative ease, unless you've overpacked. The bathroom is non-gendered, all the stalls are very clean and private. As a guy, it felt weird to use the bathroom while women were in it, so I blasted music in my earbuds to tune the world out while I did my business, ha. The showers are in a separate room and also very private. The water pressure is great and the showerheads are waterfall style. They have towels available at all hours. If you don't see any on the rack, just ask and there they shall be. The biggest surprise for me here was the restaurant. The restaurant attached to BUNK is basically a 4-star restaurant with 2-star prices. They have a full bar with well-priced drinks and very skilled, very handsome bartenders/baristas who can craft a wide arrays of cocktails. The chefs are also highly skilled, and the servers are attentive and kind. The menu is diverse, ranging from avocado toast to an interesting Indonesia beef stew-like dish that I can only describe as mind-blowingly delicious. They also featured a "taco" that was very tasty despite really not being a taco at all. My favorite breakfast (and perhaps favorite overall meal) was their Eggs Bennie with fresh smoked salmon. For dessert, on multiple occasions I ordered their popular Snickers dessert, which was peanut ice cream with caramel and shards of chocolate and brittle. I meant to do more foodie tourism during my week in Amsterdam, but the food was so good I wound up taking a good percentage of my meals in the BUNK restaurant. I snapped some pictures of the food I mentioned; it should go without saying that I am not a pro photographer. The front desk is manned (or womaned) 24/7, so anytime there was an issue or I had a question, someone was available. They are very attentive with regards to customer service. I should also note with their keycard system and network of entrances and hallways, I felt very safe. They care about security there and take proper, non-intrusive methods to make sure everyone is comfortable. I should also mention the facility is just beautiful. It's built within a very old church, there is a library, plants everywhere, a calming vibe throughout, and a quiet room for work or study. BUNK is located in the North section of Amsterdam (Noord). Noord is the quieter part of Amsterdam, suburb feeling as opposed to the city vibe elsewhere. It's extremely easy to get to the Central area from here though. There is a ferry about a 10 minute walk away that takes you to the central area, as well as a tram a five minute walk away that takes you directly to Centraal Station. I really hit a home run choosing this place, BUNK Amsterdam truly delivered the goods. Great building, great amenities, great staff, great restaurant, great location. I would recommend this to anyone traveling solo or as a couple/small group. Very small group. It's great to stay for a couple of days or a whole week. I loved my experience here and would stay again if/when I return to Amsterdam. Great place.

Good locker security with clean shared numbers of washrooms so you don’t have to wait for using washroom, Good interiors Also people who work there also good👍….but personally it’s bit far from central station.

The room we stayed in was very compact, which we knew would be the case, but it was probably smaller than we expected. Staff were great and as helpful as they could be, though when we asked for an iron it took 2 days for them to track it down from another guest for us to use it (though by then we didn’t need it!). The location is not bad - we’d never stayed in Noord before so was good to see it, but if this is your first time in Amsterdam or you are not looking to do many things in Noord, don’t stay here. Good for one or maybe two nights if you’re away on business, for example, and you will not spend much time in your room, but again, only really convenient for Noord.

There are more than 20 beds in a room. sometimes was quiet noisy.

It was a nice stay in Bunk.

La habitación privada para dos personas era muy pequeña, sabíamos que sería chica pero no tanto. No hay espacio ni para abrir tus maletas. Además, es un poco incómodo que el baños y la regadera tenga una puerta transparente. La mayoría del staff fue muy amable, sin embargo, una chava de la recepción de pelo corto fue un tanto amargada y grosera.

Todo muy bueno. A poca distancia del centro de Ámsterdam, da un poco de calma.

It’s a good place. The pods are nice. The tables outside and around the place (excluding the atrium) are all for the restaurant though—for which the food is surprisingly decent—which leaves little room for people to sit if they don’t want to feel like they’re “taking up” a restaurant space. Often the bathrooms smelled bad, which is expected when you’re sharing with up to 50 people (really I think it was like 18 or so) so I can’t complain too much about that. Showers were nice. Sometimes I got woken up by people talking in the morning, but I’m also a bit of a late riser, so that’s somewhat my fault. Climbing to the top bunks is difficult to get the hang of, but you get used to it if you use the handlebars on both sides of the pod. (Your mind will want to only use the left side but trust me.) Overall, good stay. Would come back if I was in Amsterdam again, probably in a full room, but I kind of doubt I’d come back to Amsterdam, so it is what it is.

Everything is really nice I liked the restaurant and the vibe. Two things were problematic; 1.the windows in bedrooms can’t be opened which feels really claustrophobic esp on hot summer evenings 2. There is a plumbing issue somewhere which caused a very strong smell coming up from the stairwell towards the second floor. Nauseating and did not go away. Staff is nice. Helpful.

I recently stayed at Bunk Hotel in Amsterdam, and it was such a nice and cool experience! The place is modern and quirky, with a unique design that makes it stand out. The rooms are cosy and well-thought-out, making great use of the space. The communal areas are vibrant and inviting, perfect for meeting others. The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile. Plus, the location is ideal for exploring the city. I loved the vibe of the whole place—truly a gem in Amsterdam! Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a bit different, easy going and not expensive.

Enjoyed my stay at the Bunk. The staff are very well mannered and are always there to help. My last day I was given a locker free of charge which has never happened to me before. My pod was also changed to a room on arrival which I paid for but it's rare for this to happen. So I would recommend anyone going to Amsterdam to stay at the Bunk. The room is super tiny, not suitable for family by any mean. No refrigerator. We can't buy milk at the market since we can't store it. We traveled with 4 young kids. We had to pay for milk by the glass. And 4 kids drink 1 gallon of milk/day. My room doesnt even have a table. Room with 3 beds didnt have enough space for 3 people to move around

Firstly the staff are epic. Woman on the desk was super super proactive and helpful. The location was perfect for us. Quieter, accessed via the free f3 ferry which operates at all hours at the back of Centraal (would be helpful telling all prospective guests about this). The building is a stunning conversion, the communal areas are beautiful and the outside area &bar (&staff) is brilliant. Downside is the pods. They are comfy but the top deck pods are plain dangerous. The ladders are thin metal and the handles require the arm span of a 6ft man. The require a belly flop of faith to get in and I witnessed someone this morning having a genuine panic getting down and she had to ask another lovely guest for help. Someone else landed really heavily today. I swapped to a lower bunk (thank you amazing desk woman. Genuinely no idea how their insurance is covering them because someone will get injured. The unisex pod toilets only have 2 sinks and desperately needs a shelf and mirror by the window so people can put on make up as only option is to use the area at the sinks. No toilet privacy either. Would definitely use this again but not the pods. Also lighting is low all the time in pod areas so you need your camera phone to get stuff out of lockers.

All the staff it’s what makes this place a great place to stay, it’s not the furniture or the fixtures or the equipment that makes a hotel is THE STAFF and all of them were very nice people. Angie at the front desk wearing her red lipstick was always helpful, worked until past one am when I saw her walking towards the ferry. Restaurant staff great, waitress and bartender.
