Hotel Mercury Inn by Sonachi

It's like slum..don't ever book it..they all lied..no staff..no electricity....no food..no hot water.. no geyser..no kettle.. bunch of liars..lazy people..phone doesn't work..mosquitoes...the most worst hotel I have ever seen ..farms are better than this hotel

Summary: Stinking washroom, no hot water (cracked geyser) Very small rooms Shared balcony between two rooms Cheaper deals at reception instead of online booking Only advantage is the location, but there are ***y other hotels also which are also walking distance from Golden temple. I had stayed at this hotel few years back and had a good experience so I returned to it this time. But sadly over the years, the services have declined. The washroom was stinking, we complained to the front desk, they mentioned some one would come to clean it but no one came. While the washroom looked clean, the stink was coming from pipe I think and was horrible. There was no hot water for bath (geyser was cracked). Also, I had booked a balcony view room - which costs more than normal room due to balcony. But on reaching the hotel, we got to know it was a shared balcony between two rooms. None of the online sites (MMT, agoda etc.) indicate it is a shared balcony. Our room was the smallest on the floor inspite of paying more for balcony. Our friends got room at the reception (without breakfast, balcony) at Rs.1400 while we paid Rs.2400 (including breakfast, balcony). Our room was smaller than their room, had no hot water and it felt cramped. If booking online via some portal, do not choose breakfast included option as they charge Rs.400 for breakfast via sites (MMT etc). Breakfast at the hotel is much cheaper and for 2 people would be done in Rs.200/300. There are limited options in breakfast so no point in paying Rs.400 for breakfast only. Also, there are multiple options around the hotel for food as it is walking distance from Golden temple.

I have travelled with my family & We have booked 2 Rooms for 2 Nights. Both Rooms were Golden Temple Facing and you will feel Holy Vibes in the morning as MORNING ARDAAS Started. They have served Tasty Breakfast in the Rooms & Staff is very Cooperative. The Golden Temple is exactly opposite to the Hotel & The Entry Gate of Golden Temple is just 1 Minute / Few Steps Away from the Hotel and market as well. They have provided newly renovated rooms. Their Travel Desk is also very Honest & Reasonable. We have faced some Fraud & Problem in Haridwar but Mr Navneet - Travel Desk Guy help us to resolve and Arrange our Car transfer through their local reference in Haridwar while sitting in Amritsar. Kudos to the Entire Team and ***agement. Thank You Once Again and God Bless You.
