These are apartment’s not a hotel. We booked a cheap break so didn’t expect 5 star, don’t book it if you do! Staff were amazingly friendly and would chat happily and do anything for you. The rooms are very spacious but dated with bare essentials for self catering. No extras i.e. hairdryer, iron etc but these are available at an additional price. We requested that a couple of issues be looked at and this was done very quickly. Bed very hard but we got used to it, On the plus side, we were HB, only because it was so cheap to do this. The breakfast was adequate, nice cooked breakfast, buffet style and continental running alongside. Coffee is nice. We ate dinner in half of our holiday and although you have to choose what you would like to have for your evening meal at breakfast the food was fabulous! 7 Lamb chops with chips and salad was amazing, we also had the Portuguese steak and Pepper steak, none disappointed. Pool was lovely, clean, nice area and plenty of sun beds. The distance to town is a little long and steep uphill climb coming home but a shuttle can take you to the beach each day and a taxi is only 4/5 £ and there are loads around. So in short … good for a cheap getaway to the sun, but don’t expect 5 star as you have paid for 3.

This is a return to Alvor and I must say the apartment complex has been neglected. This time we rented one of the private 2 bedroom apartments across from the shop. Totally kitted out in IKEA gear. Clean and fantastic tv with smart apps so we could sign in a watch our Netflix and other streaming services. Fully stocked kitchen. But leaking toilet which they didn’t fix, broken sink with a smell coming from the pipe work which is in the main bedroom . It did have great air con . Anyway the pool was dirty on the reception side, the one across the road was cleaner . The deck was not cleaned enough and overall the place has really gone back wards . It’s a pity because we really like that place . Alvor as a destination is super, no stags or hens just great food and beaches . Mini golf just up the road 5mins walk is a must

Chose this resort to enjoy a nostalgic trip to the Algarve where we lived for 9 years. Turned out to be a disaster as we were allocated a 3rd floor apartment requiring a climb of 6 flights of winding stairs, totally unsuitable for us, ages 79 and 65, with certain ailments. Even getting our suitcases up would have been an issue. The lack of a lift was not apparent when we booked. Spoke to reception who could offer no substitute so we left and had to be bailed out by friends. Spoke to Jet 2 rep. 2 days later who whilst sympathetic could offer no other solution, disappointing given out of peak season. As I was advised to do I Rang Jet 2 on return to UK, 9 days later, to lodge a complaint and after protracted discussions a token refund of £150 was finally offered with resort claiming alternative accommodation was offered ! It certainly wasn't so suffice to say we won't use Jet2 Holidays again.

We had a two bedroom apartment and it was lovely 😍 The only down side was the balcony was small, but big enough to sit outside to have breakfast. The pool area was lovely with lots of sun loungers. Alvoferias was well situated, a short walk to a great supermarket and fantastic bars and restaurants. There is also a supermarket on site, for anything you forgot to pack! We had a very enjoyable week.

First apartment was not fit for purpose, booked for a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens & a pre-teen) First problem was the door didn’t shut properly - maintenance were out quickly however their solution was to use insulation tape around frame, masking the fact the door didn’t actually fit it! The apartment was shocking - seating for 3 people only, dining table for 4 only, kitchen disgusting and dirty, not enough cutlery/kitchen equipment to self cater, (one knife in the whole apartment), ants everywhere even after cleaning, fridge broken, oven no markings on dials and ignition didn’t fire, toilet seat broken (both) and the toilet brush 🤢 I don’t care if it’s a 1 star or 5 star hotel, there is no excuse for leaving a faeces covered brush in plain view! TUI agreed with us and managed to get us an upgrade plus compensation (it was that bad) The 2 stars are for the very helpful manager, (I’m unsure how helpful she would have been if I didn’t have the TUI rep with us) and the second apartment, which was a massive improvement. Still needed maintenance, again both toilet seats were not properly fixed to toilet and beds were the most uncomfortable things I’ve ever slept on! Ended up putting blankets underneath the sheets. Pool area was great, seemed to be cleaned regularly when we were there and didn’t have too many problems getting a sunbed, as long as you are there before 10 when it fills up. Cafe was decent for snacks (pizza, toasties, baguettes) and generally staff were friendly. Alvor is beautiful, beach is great (recommend hiring a cabana for the day) and loads of restaurants to choose from. Would we return? To Alvor - 100%, to these apartments? Never!

Our room was bigger than we anticipated even if a bit dated. We were glad to be on the first floor as my husband isn't keen on heights, but we was right about the reception area plus side we had the WIFI router in our room so never had to worry about a connection. The sofa was very uncomfortable to sit on and the beds were very uncomfortable to sleep on and squeaked terrible everytime you moved. We walked across the walk way to the pool at the adjoining complex on the other side of the road which was more quieter and more sun loungers free, pool was freezing cold so only occasionally took a dip for cooling off. They only served pizza from that restaurant so we were limited on choice for food as they were just frozen thrown in the oven. The main town centre was down hill approximately 20 minutes walk, some lovely places to eat. Don't think we will stay here again as it wasn't to our taste.

This is a very basic and dated hotel/apartments. It is about 12 mins walk into centre where there are some lovely places to eat and drink. There is a Spar in complex and a cheaper supermarket at the bottom of the hill. As this complex is part residential, there are very ignorant people who think it is ok to set an alarm for work at stupid o'clock through a very loud BOSE speaker and wake the whole building, hence we never got a lie in. Pool area needs a bit TLC and you need to be up early to get a bed. Same as other places, people put towels on beds then head off out for the day. Barely enough hot water for 2 showers at night. We have booked alvor again for next year, just won't be staying here.....

Clean towels and sheets once a week ! No hairdryer ! These are the very basics! Cleaning doesn’t exist, they empty your kitchen bin maybe twice a week, never your bathroom bin . The rooms are dated to say the least. We had a huge balcony .. full of cigarette butts when we arrived . When we arrived, there were tampons left in our bedroom window. The man who checked us in was a lovely person… that’s the nicest thing I can say about the place ! Cockroach’s in the room, plugs that don’t work, the extractor fan coming on, on its own, blowing out a smell of fish 🤮 It’s dated and old fashioned, never again! Alvor is gorgeous .. please don’t stay here !!

Great location, spacious accommodation and never felt overcrowded. Our 2 bedroom apartment had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living/ dining area, a spacious kitchen and a balcony. It was older fashioned than some accommodation- but we quite liked it! And we loved the space. The site itself was not too busy- we enjoyed both pools, the pool bar and some of the evening entertainment. The site is split over two sites, accessed by a footbridge. A minor inconvenience but nothing to worry over. There was an onsite shop that stocked essentials, and a small supermarket just 7 mins away! Points to be aware of: We couldn’t get in rooms until 4 on arrival day. I NEVER saw an exception to this. Bedding is changed weekly, whilst new towels and toilet rolls are provided on 3 named days . We never encountered a beach/ town shuttle.
