Myself and my ten year old came to the Alvor Baía for half term holiday in October 2024. We had room 324. The hotel is an hour on the coach from the airport. It's a very impressive hotel in real life with the grand entrance. The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly, he gave us a leaflet which explained things at the hotel which was much appreciated. We were then given one of those annoying wristbands to wear all week. The room was great and so much better than I had anticipated and extremely clean. Room was cleaned and maintained daily. We took our travel kettle as advised. On floor -1 there are two restaurants, one for over 12's and the family one. You have to queue to give your room number, so once you're in, you can't keep going in and out. I thought the hotel provided an amazing selection of food and we certainly did not go hungry. The layout isn't great as you can't see what food there is further down the line and you end up stuck in a queue for ages unable to reach something a few feet down. The seating area was very packed, we found that one of us had to remain at the table at all times otherwise we'd lose our plates/table. Plates are sometimes taken away a bit too quickly when you haven't finished, but staff are working very hard in the restaurant area. Eventually we worked out the quieter times to go. Also people were not sanitising their hands when entering the restaurant and everyone touching tongs and dropping tongs in the food. I tried to sanitise my hands with the gel, but the bottle was empty every time. Our room 324 was out the front of the hotel, I think I had requested a quiet room and I am glad I did as the rooms out the back are next to music speakers and continuous noise and this would have spoilt the trip for us. So if you appreciate your quiet time, ask for a room out the front. We met some lovely people at the hotel and out and about on trips. There is a courtesy bus that takes you down to the beach, but it is walkable in 15 minutes. There is a huge supermarket a 7-10 minute walk away if you turn right out the hotel, along an off road track and then turn right at a flat block. Most people acted respectfully there, however on one night the parents a few doors down thought it was appropriate to play chase/IT/hide and seek up and down the corridor at gone midnight with their toddlers, thus waking everyone up. I mentioned it to reception the next day who apologised and said any further incidents to dial on the hotel room phone to reception and it would get sorted. I gave their room number and it didn't happen again. The pool area outside was amazing, just missing a slide or two. There was no lifeguard which I didn't like and notices all around advising to the fact. The entertainment wasn't great, in fact we went down most nights and didn't see anything. I have seen much better at other AI resorts. During the day it involves dunking water on people's head if they couldn't sing karaoke. The only things which could
