Econo Lodge Inn and Suites Altus OK

The reviews are really bad for the Altus OK Econo lodge but I decided to give it a chance. The outside and front lobby are nice besides landscape not taken care of. This is a huge hotel with not one guest when we checked in. We checked in and went to the room. As soon as you walk in the hotel there is a musty smell and the carpets are horribly stained. The room has the same smell and horribly stained carpet. The room has Ancient A/C microwave and refrigerator. The window is bad fitting and filthy as well as curtains. The comforter is old and threadbare as we pulled the comforter down the sheets had a gritty maybe sand on them. We wiped them off wondering if they were even changed from last guest. The bathroom is even worse, smells and was dirty with stained ring in toilet. The shower tile wall is sinking down. I touched the tiles and you can feel the whole wall move. The final straw was the towels are horribly stained and smell dirty. The whole room overall was dirty. I used my points for two nights but stayed only one. The only reason we stayed one night was because we came back very late from my wife’s fathers viewing. I stay at hotels every week due to my job and have never experienced a worse hotel in 47 years. I highly recommend staying at another hotel. This hotel has great potential but is extremely run down and will take a massive Renovation.
