Ikion Eco Boutique Hotel

A brilliant find, giving excellent value. Beautiful views to the sea view rooms. Spotlessly clean with an absolutely amazing welcome and ongoing support and advice from Maria with nothing too much trouble. Situated just above the port it gave easy access to all the islands attractions. The rooms were excellently appointed with extremely comfy beds and pillows and great shower. The chose your own breakfast served where you want and when you wanted. We chose the terrace overlooking the sea, but you could also chose your room balcony or garden. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We absolutely loved this fabulous family run small boutique hotel. Perfect quiet location a short walk from the centre of Patitiri with outstanding sea views. We were greeted warmly by the lovely Maria on arrival with a welcoming glass of their home-made lemonade with lemons from the tree in the courtyard planted by her grandfather many years ago. She then told us about the best places to visit and recommended a number of restaurants. We had booked a standard double room with sea view but as the hotel was quiet, we were delighted to be given an upgrade to a super one-bedroom suite with sea view which had a large living room, separate bedroom, well equipped en suite with lots of hot water, good water pressure and lovely toiletries plus a great balcony overlooking the terraces down to the sea. The huge double bed was so comfy and we slept really well. The slippers and bath robes in the room were most welcome as was the large efficient fridge for cold drinks together with daily glass bottles of filtered water provided fitting with the Eco theme so we didn’t need to buy plastic bottles of water. I had also contacted the hotel before we arrived to enquire if they had decaff coffee available and Maria had put a small jar in the room especially for me! Daily cleaning and regular changing of towels and bed linen and everywhere was spotless. The breakfast at Ikion was the best we have ever had. To save waste, there is no buffet but everything is prepared freshly to order with home-made or local products and you can choose as much as you want, what time you want it and where to eat it. We enjoyed a substantial breakfast of fresh juices, a choice of coffees, muesli with yoghurt, fruit and honey, pancakes, fresh bread with home-made jams and delicious home-made cake and freshly baked cheese pie and spinach and herb pies, which we saved for later as they were enormous. Maria was always cheerful, keen to know where we had been each day and so helpful particularly when we wanted to hire e-bikes. She was very tolerant of me practising my Greek (which isn’t that good)! We had an amazing time at the Ikion and on Alonnisos, which is a beautiful unspoilt quiet island, and we really didn’t want to leave. The parting gift from Maria of a pretty little bag of fresh sage was a lovely gesture. Eυχαριστώ πολύ

The Ikion Eco Boutique Hotel is an absolute shining gem at the heart of stunning Alonissos. Maria and her team have created a beautiful hotel with brilliant service, fabulous rooms and a sustainable approach at the heart of all they do. From the amazing beds, to the fantastic breakfasts to the wonderful views - there's no reason not to visit. We had the family sea view suite, which is 2 rooms with our girls (ages 13 and 16) sharing a large and comfortable sofa bed. It was absolutely perfect for us and we left wanting to stay far longer! Thank you Maria for making our stay so memorable x

Staying here for 6 days in June was a delight. This beautifully designed boutique hotel is an oasis of calm. Maria and her charming staff make every effort to give their guests the very best of times .Our room though small was bright and elegant with a comfortable bed, an abundance of pillows and a fabulous bathroom. It was also very quiet. Breakfast on the terrace with a view of the sea was a treat. It is a very special place.

First visit to Alonissos.and I am sure we will return. Ikion is a fabulous hotel made all the more special by Maria who was delightful, very friendly and helpful with great recommendations about Alonissos beaches and places to eat. Great breakfast each day on our terrace with breathtaking views of the sea. The old village is spectacular. Thank you Maria for making our holiday really special.

The welcome through to the goodbye and everything in between was faultless. Maria and her team were welcoming, attentive and genuinely kind. As a solo female guest, I felt safe staying here. The room (31) had a lovely view towards the port and a spacious and private balcony. The bed and pillows were the comfiest I have experienced in a hotel and I slept really well. There was no noise intrusion from guests in other rooms you so often get in most hotels. The bathroom was exceptionally clean with lovely toiletries, a robe and slippers. There was a full size fridge, perfect for keeping water and wine cold, a kettle and tea and coffee. You order breakfast the evening before and there was a great choice. Breakfast can be taken in your room, on the terrace or in the garden, anytime between 8 and 11. It was all delicious and set me up for a day exploring. I hired a car and whilst there is no car park, on street parking was easy. It was my first time on Alonissos, it won’t be my last and I will be returning to the Ikion. I left today feeling relaxed, refreshed and spoilt by the experience. Thank you Maria, thank you Ikion

I was pleasantly surprised at how bright, clean, stylish and well-equipped the Ikion hotel was. But best of all, the bed was super comfortable, with super comfortable pillows (this is a big deal for me!) We had a great view and a private balcony, and the service was great. Plus, the hotel is an easy walk from town. I highly recommend a stay at the Ikion Boutique Hotel

Absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was amazing and the owners made you feel so so welcome. It was my 60th birthday while I was there and they bought out a stunning cake and sang happy birthday in Greek accompanied by the owners lovely natured cat. Would not hesitate to recommend
