The Level at Melia Alicante

Had a lovely weekend here. The extra money was well worth it for the complimentary drinks all day, snacks and infinity pool. Our room was very comfortable , good air conditioning and gorgeous sea and beach view My only criticism is that the beds around the pool were limited and not enough for the guests. A lovely visit , can’t wait to go back

We are just back from 3 nights at the Melia. We had booked ‘the level’ just to have Adult only but we didn’t expect the service we received. The Level look after everything, you check in/out there. This is the area you have Breakfast, they serve tapas and desserts throughout the day. Free drinks, juices, fanta etc. and wine, beer etc. Get there early to get a good sunbed, as it does get busy. We loved the infinity pool. Stunning views of the beach from this area. But the best thing was the staff, everywhere in the hotel, but especially the people working in the level were so friendly, I am gluten free and when I mentioned this they made sure there was something there for me. You were always greeted with a smile and a chat and you could see them treating everyone like this. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, the view of the marina was stunning. We ate Lunch and dinner in the hotel restaurant area ‘Trasluz’ and the food was exceptional. The only tip I could recommend is to have the food labelled for allergens in ‘the level’, it would make it easier on the customers with issues.

The hotel is lovely. The only complaints we have is that we were not told about the free bar between 6-7 pm in the level lounge. We found out the night before leaving by another customer. When we checked out the morning after, we mentioned our concern and was told “sorry the lady who checked us in was probably busy”. It was supposed to be “Level service” and we expected the same service as everyone else who checked in as we paid a premium like others did. In addition, there is a notice saying “no” reserving beds and towels will be removed after 30 mins. This is not acted on even though we mentioned only towels on beds and no bodies so we never got to use the pool.

If anyone is looking for a short break in Alicante then get booking now, it is definitely a place that is overlooked with people just flying in and then moving on to their next destination. We stayed at the Melia Alicante for 3 nights which is perfect location for exploring. We chose a Level Room with direct pool access which included drinks and snacks throughout the day in the Lounge, access to the adults only pool and a separate reception for check in/out which made for a stress free holiday. Breakfast had a great selection of food and this was also served in the Lounge. This also came with stunning views of the sea. We could have sat there for hours just taking in the views, in a peaceful environment. The staff were so friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was spotlessly clean, just the perfect stay.

Fabulous experience for our group of running friends. This is the third year we have stayed here when participating in the Alicante 10k race. The staff are always pleasant, friendly and attentive. Great breakfasts and lots of snacks and drinks during the day. Thanks you Roao and Cynthia.

We have just returned from a three day stay at The Level Melia Alicante and I am afraid my review has some negatives. But firstly to the good reviews - beautiful lounge with all day drinks, coffee and treats, extremely comfortable bed and excellent housekeeping and staff. Our marina view room on the 5th floor was super for afternoon sun on the balcony but at the end of a very long dark corridor, in fact the ‘Level’ area of the hotel is quite some distance from the hotel entrance. Unfortunately I could not recommend ‘The Level ‘ to anyone with any degree of mobility issues mainly due to the distance and also as the bath with shower over it is very high and there are no safety bars to enable getting in and out. There may however be disabled rooms more suitable so please ask before booking. As I have said previously, the Level lounge is beautiful in both decor and comfort with a gorgeous view of the beautiful Postiquet beach but be warned, when you book, make sure you book breakfast as it is very unclear whether it is included in the upgrade and you will be charged separately at €24 per person per day - the cold buffet is very good with cheeses, salamis, cold meats, fruit and a nice bread selection but the cooked breakfast is rather dismal and disappointing. We would probably stay in the Melia when next in Alicante for its location to the beach and Alicante old town but would not upgrade to The Level sadly.
