Travelodge - Alfreton

Unfortunately, accessible room isn't quite as accessible as it could be. Door only 80cm wide instead of 90cm, so impossible to make turn into room on mobility scooter. Fortunately, plenty of room in foyer to park scooter and a power point to enable charging. Bathroom has non-slip floor and grab handles, low-level bath and low-level sink. Bath with shower over, isn't accessible if you need a level access shower. Carpark needs resurfacing. Mobile phone reception poor. Burger King is food outlet next door, so you may want to bring your own supplies for tea and breakfast. Nonetheless, hotel, clean, safe, comfortable. Fan in room to help mitigate current humid weather and window opens to allow fresh in, if required. Location quiet, so good for quiet night's sleep. Staff helpful and friendly.

We use to book this Travelodge many times before Covid. It was always well present and the attached restaurant offered a fine selection of food. Sadly things have changed for the worse.. The carpark is unkempt and the new attached restaurant was basic and uninviting. The hotel night porter was helpful and the room clean. The Avios Miles promised were not issued as were Avios Miles on previous bookings; so don’t expect any.

Booked for 4 nights. Stayed for 1hr. Absolutely disgusting and reception and management think its acceptable to take money from paying guests when its complete filth. See my photos to see for yourself the state of the room they expect people to pay for. Got refused refund and had to go elsewhere out of pocket. Emailed CEO and HR taking this further. Shocking service and absoloute filth. Clearly don't have cleaners becsuse this place hasn't been touched in YEARS. Blood ? Years of junk? Poo? Pee? Who knows i wasnt touching it. Literally wouldn't step on the carpets without shoes on filthy. Window locks /handle also broken! Stayed 0 nights paid for 4. Shocking service
