3HB Guarana - All Inclusive

Stayed for 10 days as a family with two children (10 and 7). Our experience… Room - clean, generally comfortable and cleaned just about every day. As others have said, the (single) pillow is the only negative, far too soft and not particularly comfortable for sleeping. The air conditioning isn’t the strongest and our ceiling fan didn’t work, but it whilst our initial feeling was like much of the reviews here (the air con could be a bit stronger), we acclimatised after a few days. Our room location was on the 1st floor (107) which was quite unfortunately placed being almost directly above the evening entertainment bar, this meant that it was often quite noisy until around 11:30 each night, but to be fair the room kept much of the noise out well and didn’t bother us too much, but if travelling with younger children than ours (10 & 7) would advise trying to avoid this area of the hotel rooms wise. Pool - we didn’t use the indoor pool but both of the outdoor pools were good, the larger of the two did get busy - almost too busy at times on an afternoon between 3-4 when water polo and volleyball activities were also taking place, but mornings (cold first thing but you appreciate it later in the day!) and late afternoons often quiet. The poolside bar was very good and the bartender who ran this almost single handedly on a daily basis does an excellent and efficient job. Entertainment - probably fair to review in two parts. First off, the entertainment team do a fantastic job, working tirelessly from morning til night whilst actively encouraging (but not pushing) involvement in the array of activities for both kids and adults. They work consistently to facilitate a positive experience to everyone’s holiday and nothing but praise for them. They also host the early evening entertainment (sometimes providing the show themselves), which brings me on to the next point. Most of the evenings the entertainment is provided by external visiting acts (musicians, singers, magicians), and unfortunately these are all totally forgettable. If you’ve holidayed in Europe in the past 30 years you’ll have seen acts like this before. All adequate, but incredibly run of the mill and nothing of any real imagination or excitement. It wasn’t helped by the fact all acts played largely the same songs (I believe we heard ‘Proud Mary’ 4 nights in a row). It’s 2024, setlists a bit more mixed and not dominated by songs from the 70s and 80s would be nice! Food & Drink - the main Milharó restaurant has a wide array of selection on offer both breakfast, lunch and evening, the Oriental restaurant is excellent and we loved it, whilst the Mediterranean restaurant was nice enough, it was perhaps a bit more limited selection wise. Snack bar also available during the day which had a good choice of options. All of us found the food enjoyable, plentiful, and decent quality. Long review - We’ve just returned from a week here as a family of 5 (4 adults & 1 two year old). This place is absolutely brilliant for families! Room - we selected interconnecting twin rooms which were separated by 2 doors (so either side could stay locked) equipped with 2 large singles which can be made up to make a bed of super king size. I emailed the hotel two weeks before our stay to ensure both rooms were made up as one bed, and requested the largest cot available for my toddler. The cot provided was fab, good mattress and bedding. We did take our own toddler quilt & pillow (vac bagged in our suitcase is a top tip). You can also request further pillows, which we did ask for. There are thicker blankets available in the wardrobes. The AC was great and easy to use, both rooms had ceiling fans as well and both rooms had mini fridges & safe. The rooms are TOTAL blackout with the curtains in there, great for any kids that need it dark. Plug sockets are near the bedside and we did take our own triple plug which was helpful. Bathroom is well equipped with products, towels, bidet, bath & shower and hairdryer. The only downside to the room is that there isn’t really anywhere to keep the suitcases & buggy. As we had two rooms we blocked the hallway in one to keep the bulkier stuff which worked well. Food - there is a main buffet open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 2 other restaurants that require booking (Mediterranean and oriental ) and a snack bar. Breakfast options are really good, plenty of choice for everyone. We didn’t tend to go the main buffet for lunch and instead used the snack bar which offered burgers, hot dogs, baguettes, wraps, ice cream and other items alongside drinks. They also provided takeaway packaging so you could eat at the pool or take to your room. Dinner was fine our at the main buffet, the adults could always find something they liked but we found that it didn’t offer any plain meat options. The oriental restaurant was absolutely amazing! The quality, selection and freshness was 5*. Had a range of hot dishes, sushi bar, sides and they even had a door to the main buffet for adults to use to go and get their children a plate of food if they didn’t want anything (great idea and we used it!) Mediterranean restaurant had the same door but to the snack bar. Again the food was brilliant here and we ate there twice as it was our favourite. Resort - it’s so incredibly clean! There are 3 swimming pools in the main area, one which is a small kids pool (0.5m deep) so perfect for toddlers as they can walk around in it. It’s nice that they allow guests to leave pool toys, so you can easily find ones for your kids without bringing/spending. There is another kids pool on the upper deck, a splash park (which although states 4yo, we saw a lot younger in there and took our 2.7yo as he was accompanied by 2 adults and was one of the older ones in there on our trip). An amazing hotel, we had a wonderful week here with our boys aged 10 and 7. Great facilities - so much to keep us all entertained. The staff were lovely and worked SO hard - the entertainment team, restaurant staff and cleaning team did everything to make the hotel experience great and keep the hotel spotless. My son had his birthday when we were here and the management and staff were so kind to him, giving a card, a singsong at dinner and a bottle of bubbly for mum and dad :) The food was incredible!! A huge choice, delicious and always plenty. I really couldn’t fault this hotel - take me back please!

Baby friendly tips! This review is for anyone coming to the hotel with a baby and just my tips in my personal opinion. Firstly the staff are super friendly and always interacting with the babies. Babies make lots of mess and they aren’t annoyed or phased by it at all. Some other tips: - Bring food pouches to be on the safe side. Not a great deal of choice and no ‘children’s section’ so it was hard to tell if things had added salt etc. - Breakfast wise there’s toast, yogart (large pots not individual pots), hard boiled egg, milk, soy milk plus oat, almond and lactose free are available on request. - Not a huge amount of fruit available but there is lovely fresh melon but without the rind so we had brought a food dummy with us and filled this with melon in the morning. - I did see one microwave in the main restaurant tucked around the corner at the back if you need to heat things up. - Ask for a kettle at reception as there isn’t one in the room as standard. - If you’re a formula feeder (we are) then the bottled water provided at reception is safe to use for making the bottles. It even has it on the front (translated in the pic). - There are no children’s plates, they use the normal plates so if your baby likes to grab the plates I would say bring your own one as the plates will smash. Would also bring cutlery from home as there aren’t any plastic ones. - The cots the hotel provided are nice and big. Our baby didn’t mind sleeping in it and did spend the majority of the night in it. Was also great to use as a little playpen that we filled with her toys when we were getting ready. - We had a twin standard room which is 2 single beds however we requested before hand via email to have this made up as a double as she does sleep in our bed towards the end of the night and this was no problem for them. It actually made a HUGE bed so she slept very well in it. - The entertainment at night is loud! We were in room 506 which was perfect. Quite room and did have a partial sea view (in pic). I would recommend staying at high up as possible for a quieter room. - The parasols at the pool don’t block out the sun fully so if you have one bring a pram brolly as they were much better for keeping her in the shade. - The highchairs are the ikea ones so if you have one of the inflatable high chair cushion bring this. We did and this was a massive help. - Lastly the pool is FREEZING. She refused the outdoor pool (went in May) but the indoor pool was a great temperature. - The steps down to the big beach aren’t too bad but defo don’t do it with a pram, bring a baby carrier if you have one. - If you want a nice quiet area to have a drink out of the sun defo utilise the lovely seating in reception. It’s beautiful and has a great view of the pool. You can bring your drinks from the main bar. This was our first trip abroad with our 7 month old baby so I hope this helps a fellow parent feel confident with going abroad.

This was the first holiday me and my partner had been on since his two strokes, and it did not disappoint! From the minute we walked through the door we were blown away by this little piece of paradise. Everything was clean, rooms were comfy, staff were helpful, facilities were great. Entertainment was good and The Crazy Show was hilarious! We also loved how accessible the hotel was as it’s hard to find somewhere so good for this. There were ramps all around the hotel and lifts to the rooms and various floors. The best part was the ramp into the pool, meaning my partner was able to go in the water, which was wonderful! Couldn't have asked for a better holiday and can’t put into words how much we enjoyed staying at this hotel! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have just came back from a week long stay at the 3HB Guarana. After a hectic time getting through Passport Control at Faro Airport, and an hour long transfer, we checked in. Our room was ready and waiting to our surprise, as check-in is usually at 16.00hrs. We were a bit disappointed getting a room next to the lift, which we thought could be a bit noisy at times, but we never heard anything all week. The room was spacious and very clean. The beds were very comfortable, but you only have one flat pillow. Room service was excellent, and we had clean towels every day. The Restaurant at the start of our stay was hectic to say the least. Once you checked in at the entrance you were shown to your table, this is a good idea. Food was good with plenty of choices. The down side was that because it was so busy, children were often running amok. On one occasion I had a mousse dropped off a plate which spilt the mousse all over my shoes. As the week unfolded it got quieter, but the almost feral children didn't. There's almost nothing to do for much of the day, unless you play darts or bingo ( one card, one line and a full house....that's it....over in 10 minutes!! ). Evening started with the children's entertainment, which was Halloween themed. To be honest we were getting a bit fed up of the week long Halloween experience. The children were still running amok, running around the tables and chairs till well into the evening. Parents simply not bothered. Evening entertainment, when it came on after 9, was good. The bar was well stocked, but with only local Beers, Wines and Spirits. There was plenty of staff so you didn't wait long. We appreciate that this is a family hotel, so if you want a bit more peace and quiet, there are other excellent hotels nearby like the Patio Suite, and the AP Adriana. What I've written is our experience, and our views. But this doesn't take away the excellent service and cleanliness of this hotel. For us it was the wrong choice.
