We are so pleased we chose Aloni suites for our family holiday. Communication was great - Vassia was helpful with recommendations for car hire and prompt with replies. Our apartment was spotlessly clean and a good size with a living area big enough for a settee and table, fully tiled bathroom and 2 good sized bedrooms. We also had a balcony big enough for a small table and 2 chairs and a second small balcony with an extendable washing airer attached to the wall. The kitchen area had a full size fridge freezer, double sink, kettle, toaster and small oven with hob. Washing up liquid, cloth and sponge were also provided. There was enough crockery and glasses for the number of people in the suite. There were also hand and bath towels and a tea towel which were replaced every few days, as was the bedding. The apartment was serviced every day apart from Sundays. The ladies who serviced were polite and honest. We left money and belongings around the apartment and none of them were touched. The outside area was nicely landscaped and we had a beautiful view to the sea with stunning sunsets. The pool was very clean and our son really enjoyed it. The snack bar was handy and served things like omelettes, chips, toasted sandwiches, salads, fruit salads, ice cream and milkshakes as well as a good selection of drinks all reasonably priced. It was fairly priced. There is also a small selection of books where you can swap your books. There is a games room with 2 pool tables and a gym. All the staff were so friendly and spoke very good English. They were happy to give local recommendations for restaurants and shops and happily helped us with language barriers, ringing to book tables at local restaurants. Vassia did recommend that we hired a car and did so via the local hire company (horafakia). We used the car every day - it’s about 25 minutes to the centre of Chania, and 15 minutes from the airport. There are various mini supermarkets within a 2-3 minute drive and larger supermarkets 15 minutes away. You could walk to the nearest mini-market but in 30 c heat, you’d not want to buy anything cold! There’s a car park at Aloni. Aloni is peaceful and they don’t play loud music in the communal area. There is aircraft noise and you will get fighter jets flying past (which I loved!!) as the Hellenic Air Force have a base at the airport, but only in the day time. The sunsets are stunning. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Aloni and will definitely return.
