We stayed just one night here in a Superior Double Room which opened out onto a small deck overlooking the forest/lake. A small but very comfortable room. We dined at the hotel bistro - the food was very good. Room very clean, comfortable bed. A novelty to be surrounded by trees in Iceland!

Fine for a night. Ran out of hot water after one shower. Phoned reception for them to fix it and they must have done while we went out for dinner. Clean, a bit out of the way but ‘ok’. Breakfast was rather nondescript too. If you need a bed for the night in this region it’s ok but I wouldn’t chose to go out of my way to come here.

Beautiful area, comfortable beds, nice restaurant, nice rooms. Breakfast had lots of good choices. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Rooms were warm but open windows helped a little. Overall highly recommend.

Hotel Hallormsstadur is located in the Hallormsstadur National Forest that is one of Iceland biggest forests (they don’t have so many of them). The area is of course very quiet. Our room was well equipped and very comfortable. Their buffet dinner, albeit a bit pricey, is excellent with an offering for all tastes. Breakfast buffet was also excellent, the best we had in our six nights stay in Iceland. No idea about the pricing as it was part of the package from our travel agency.

The rooms were a good size - we had 2 triple rooms. No black out curtains for the windows - the light comes in all night. The hot water in the bathroom was nuts; on the sink it was working well but in the showers (for both rooms) it kept going from hot to cold every few seconds. The wifi in the rooms is bad - it kept cutting out. The breakfast buffet is very good with many choices. For the amount we paid we didn't get our worth.

We stayed here 2 nights during our 2 weeks ring rd trip. The staffs were very nice and friendly. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast buffet is a plus with a lot of variety (with hot items). We had dinner twice at the buffet restaurant. It was pretty decent. It is 10 minutes drive to Hengifoss waterfall.

Nice room no complaints. Restaurant was expensive but good. Loved loved hiking the area around the hotel! Beautiful forest and just behind the hotel is a nice hike up to a large waterfall. Also hengifoss waterfall is about a 10 minute drive away and probably my favorite waterfall I saw in Iceland

We stayed here 2 nights during our 14 days ring to trip. The room was clean and modern. However, the shower didn’t work properly- lukewarm towards cool water. Other than that, everything was great. Good breakfast buffet. We dined at the buffet restaurant twice . The food was decent and the service was excellent. Highly recommended this hotel.

I stayed her for 2 nights and really enjoyed my stay. It is about a 20 minutes drive from Egilsstaðir and nice and quiet location near the lake. Comfortable room for a solo traveler.
Breakfast was really good with lots of choices including scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. Breakfast staff is really friendly and makes you feel welcome.
Reasonably priced when I stayed there. Would stay there again for sure.
